When did your culinary journey begin?

As a kid, I fell in love with baking and in college I randomly got hired as a pastry chef allowing me to work in a commercial kitchen for about 3 1/2 years. During the pandemic, I started cooking a lot more and my social media took off from my smoothie bowl and baking videos. When the opportunity to be on Next Level Chef came up, I really started to hone in on my culinary skills, and I’ve learned even more since then!

What was the process for you to get picked for Next Level Chef?

I had to submit an application online and then go through the audition process with the online interviews with the casting producers and network producers. It was extensive!

Have you been in any other cooking competitions before entering the world of Next Level Chef?

No! This was my first time, so definitely a new and challenging experience.

What was it like working with star chef Gordon Ramsay?

Chef Ramsey is amazing. He’s so kind and such a great teacher. I learned so much from him and was so encouraged by the way he worked with me and taught me. He really wants you to succeed!

What is your signature dish? What do people love about it?

Well, if you were to ask my husband, he would probably say his favorite dish is when I make short ribs with mashed potatoes and broccolini and then caramelitas for dessert. He’s a meat and potatoes kind of guy and he loveeees the gooey caramel!

What is your favorite or least favorite dish to prepare? Why?

I love anything I can prepare in one pan or use minimal equipment. I’m a busy girl and I am often on the go so finding meals that can be cooked quickly with minimal cleanup are my favorite ones to make.

How do you describe your overall cooking style?

Healthy, approachable, and delicious!

Name the three kitchen tools you can’t do without?

A good pan, a pair of tongs and a sharp knife!

Name three ingredients that you would be heartbroken to not have in your kitchen.

Salt!! Oil and some kind of acid either vinegar or lemon juice!

Do you have any guilty pleasure foods that you enjoy that might surprise people?

I don’t know if this would surprise people, but I love ice cream. I’ve had a bowl every single night ever since I was a little girl!

Who has been your biggest inspiration?

I really look up to Daphne Oz. She has this effortless beauty about her. Everything she cooks looks so delicious and tasty and she makes it look so fun and easy!

What are the three most important things in your life?

My faith, family and community.

How do you relax away from work?

I love being outside and going on long walks. I also love traveling and exploring new cities. Anytime I’m with my favorite people doing fun things, I feel refueled.

What are your immediate plans for the future?

I’m going to continue with my job as a full-time content Creator while also working on developing new products for my smoothie bowl line and hopefully a cookbook on the way soon!
