Tae Lewis

As usual, we like to warm our interviewees up so here is some silly fun stuff first

If you were to write an autobiography, what would the title be?

“Worth the Wait” A Story of Tae Lewis. I think throughout my time of being an artist, I’ve been trampled on because of many things that I cannot cover in one sitting. However, I’ve realized that my upbringing has brought me to the point I am now which is to never stop dreaming. Now that I am steady working, people are excited about what new music I can bring to the genre of country music. It just made me realize, I was just “worth the wait” to hear.

If you could be a superhero, what would your superpower be and your superhero name?

T-Boy the Rodeo. I’m not sure why I chose that. Honestly, the superhero power would be The Lasso Knot.

What was the last thing you dressed up as for fancy dress?

The last thing I dressed up for since this quarantine is Sunday Service. I really don’t dress up as much. I’m always at home or chilling with friends and I never dress up for that.

You are a new addition to a crayon box.  What color would you be and why?

I would be HoneyMoney. It would be like brownish orange.

What would be the ideal food to have cooked for you on a date night?

I’m not a picky eater but my ideal meal would be probably shrimp, Mash Potatoes, Greens, and Wine. Something really nice and elegant.

What would be a good theme song for your life?

Rise and Grind! Every morning I’m steadily waking up early to get prepared for the next thing in my life.

And now to the more serious ones…

What inspired you to write ‘Good Luvin’?

Me and my girlfriend are in a long-distance relationship at the moment. It’s been really tough dealing with it but it made me realize that even though we’re so far away, we can still have a good time with each other and take the stress away because she’s worth the time.

Have you got a ritual of sorts when writing and thinking about your music?

Yes! I typically write in a transparency mode. Which is how I’ve always written because people seek transparency. So I write in a journal. In that journal, I explain all the issues I have in my life and what things I can do better.

Does your gospel background influence the way you both record music and write songs?

My gospel background definitely helps my influence in writing and recording music. I never want to stray away from my background. So I make sure I’m steadily utilizing that in my music.

What lead you to become a music artist and what advice can you give to others aspiring to make a hit?

Actually Dixie chicks were the reason I became the artist I am now. I grew up listening to them and they inspired me with their hit song “wide open spaces”. It made me realize that I have to make mistakes in order for me to aspire to be someone like an artist.

What two artists have defined your music taste and who would you love to collaborate with in the future?

The two artists I would say are Dixie Chicks and Vince Gill. They both have very different unique sounds but they also bring substance that is so enriching to the country realm.

What can we expect from you in the future?

Right now In speaking with my manager, we’re in a writing process at the moment. So I’m working on new music to drop for everyone in the early winter.
