Nashville-based singer-songwriter Taylor Bickett builds upon the buzz of her breakout single QUARTER LIFE CRISIS with a brilliant new music video.

Featuring her intimate lyricism and stunning vocal range atop delicate acoustic guitar, the visuals find Bickett dancing her way through an empty diner as her younger self peers on through the window. As the two Bicketts enter a timelapse in the diner, the past and present versions of her merge to take her 23-year-old obstacles head on. It’s a poignant representation of growing up that crystallizes why fans have come to call Bickett their “long-lost older sister” and will eventually lead toward her debut EP (due later this year).

Bickett explains her newest “is my most autobiographical song to date. I wrote it at a time in my life when I was feeling overwhelmed by the passage of time, by the fear that I’ve wasted my potential. It captures how it feels to be in your early twenties, so it’s full of contradictions, post-adolescent angst, and a hint of existential dread. This period in our lives is crazy; some of my high school friends are married with kids while I still feel like a kid myself most days.”

“It was amazing to see how many people resonated with this song and heartwarming to see the trend take off on the internet. Our 16-year-old selves from those youthful, wide-eyed, slightly awkward photos are still somewhere inside our adult selves. (Calling myself an adult feels wrong…),” she adds.

On the music video, she concludes, “Filming the music video was such an exciting experience, and definitely a bucket list moment. The vision was: chaotic, moody, melodramatic (plus a little self-deprecating and silly). It was so sweet to film with Paisley, who played the younger version of me, and to incorporate real videos from my childhood into the music video. Spaced Visuals captured my vision perfectly, and getting to release it on my 24th birthday was an added bonus! This video, much like the song, is distinctly, unmistakably me.”

Bickett is a natural storyteller with over 285k TikTok followers and 30 million streams since gaining traction online during the early stages of the pandemic in 2020. “QUARTER LIFE CRISIS” eventually caught fire with over 400k user-generated videos across social platforms with support from the likes of Drew Barrymore. Taylor recently performed at Nashville’s Live on the Green festival (headlined by Sheryl Crow, COIN, and more), the rooftops of the Eastern (Atlanta) before Carly Rae Jepsen and the Georgia Theatre (Athens) before Sammy Rae & Friends, and has opened for artists such as Laura Marano and Andi Mitchell.
