Indie pop artist Logan Thomas is on a mission to spread hope to the hopeless. He uses music to tell stories about overcoming challenges in life. His music is down-to-earth yet uplifting, inspiring listeners to be present in the moment and embrace both the good and the bad in their life.
As someone who has struggled with mental illness and depression throughout his life, Logan sees no greater calling than to be a beacon of hope for those who are struggling.
Logan Thomas just released his new indie pop ballad “Make you Proud.” It has a strong hook both lyrically and musically. It has a strong similarity to Jason Mraz meets Ed Sheeran. “I wrote it in honor of my sister who passed away when I was 18,” shares Logan. It’s a beautiful song that sheds nothing but love and hope.
He sings “Now that your gone there’s a hole in my heart,” perhaps one of the more vulnerable lines of the song. What makes this song stand out is the personal nature of it. You can feel in everything about the song that it means something to Logan. He wrote this from his heart and it’s clear.
I’ve never heard a more moving and powerful song. The lyrics on top of angelic musical layering and acoustic instrumentation is beyond any words in the English language. He sings to his sister, hoping that he makes her proud while he’s here on Earth and is hopeful that he will see her again one day.
There was a specific moment when Logan decided that music was his true calling in life: it was the middle of summer 2014 in a crowded, sweaty van full of his bandmates. They were on tour, heading to New York City for a performance. Logan was exhausted, dirty, and uncomfortable, but the only thing he could think to himself was “there is nowhere else I would rather be right now, and I could do this every day for the rest of my life…”
He realized that his passion for connecting with people through music was so great that it didn’t matter what his physical circumstances were. Since that day, Logan has not wavered from pursuing his calling to spread hope through music.
