For singer-songwriter Heidi Vincent, her upbringing has influenced a deep-seated connection to music.

Raised by her grandparents in Prince George BC, Heidi’s early years were surrounded by familial love and a diverse musical heritage spanning generations and genres. From the melodies of Bill Monroe to the harmonies of “The Beatles,” music became a kind of respite through which she could escape and connect with the world around her.

One of her favorite memories was being only 6 and at each set of her grandparents’ home, whomever she was visiting first, being the star of the night:

Each room was a gigantic stage and there I was, walking around singing at the top of my lungs; Glenn Campbell’s “Rhinestone Cowboy” to the delight and amusement of all privy to this amazing concert.”

Her musical talent emerged early; Heidi often played for family gatherings. Then in her early twenties, she began to explore song writing and recording. The loss of her mother deeply impacted her, which then inspired her debut song “Missing You.”

With this deep passion for music, Vincent embarked on a career as a singer-songwriter, gracing stages across North America and making waves on radio, television, and even the big screen.

She has previously released two full-length albums, and actively performed as a singer-songwriter in and around Canada and North America. Many of her songs have been included in placements, including on the Biography Channel’s “Jude Law,” “Genesis” and “Woody Harrelson,” and in shows such as “Pimp My Ride” and “Extreme Hawaiian Escape.”

Her path did take a temporary detour as she prioritized the responsibilities of motherhood, momentarily stepping away from the spotlight to raise her daughter. But in 2023, Heidi made a return with three brand new singles, including the stand-out track “Dear ADHD.”

With raw honesty and authenticity shines this track has received wide acclaim from music critics and industry insiders. Its infectious country-pop melody strikes a chord with listeners and offers a message of hope to those experiencing life with ADHD:

“All my life I felt “wrong”. I felt as though I was watching the world from the outside of a windowpane. I had a direct view but no access to the great life I saw inside. All the people “in there” seemed to breeze through their “to do’s”, the tasks, the social expectations, the short-term memory, the focus, the time management, the prioritizing, the confidence; life in general … I wrote this song for people like her who struggle with ADHD and for the world. I hope to inspire connection, compassion, and cognizance of what life with ADHD is like. I want to tell you we are ok and we’re not alone.”

With a strong chorus, this is a pop country anthem that lets Heidi’s unique voice shine through. It is fresh, candid, and emotional without being heavy. It connects the dots for anyone experiencing ADHD.

“Dear ADHD” is written and performed by Heidi Vincent, produced by Winston Hauschild, and recorded at the beautiful setting of TreeHouse Studios on Bowen Island, BC.

I fell in love with music when I first picked up a guitar at age 8. When I played, my friends and family would smile and spill with joy over the music I played, even though it was never Grammy quality. While my music career never made it past high school, my love for music never waivered. I loved the feeling of bringing a smile to someone's face through music and wanted to keep that passion going. So, I took it upon myself to continue to support and promote artists by writing about their music. This way, I can support my personal passion for music and bring entertain and joy to others through music.  Outside my love for music, I do enjoy a good hike and being in the outdoors. My favorite place that I've hiked is in Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah. I love to travel too. I've been to Costa Rica, Vancouver, BC, and England, but the best place by far is Germany on Oktoberfest. I liken that experience to being in New Orleans on Mardi Gras. I like a good book now and then, but I'm more of a streaming fiend. I live for crime docuseries on Netflix, veterinary shows on National Geographic, and re-watching Scrubs on Hulu.
