Getting to know Sevier

If you were to write an autobiography, what would the title be?

“It’s All Semantics.” I love that word. It’s one of my favorite words. It’s all based on how you communicate and how it’s interpreted.

If you were talking to a younger version of you, what advice would you give yourself?

I would tell myself to not focus on people’s opinions of you. Communicate, communicate, communicate. And let everyone know who you are, what you’re up to, and what you’re about. And appreciate and admire people in life.

What makes you nostalgic?

90s music. More specifically the song, “Everybody’s Free to Wear Sunscreen” by Baz Luhrmann. It’s just the epitome of nostalgia. That song, when you listen to it, it really sort of covers your entire existence. It’s the craziest thing. Nothing has every really made me feel more nostalgic. The lyrics really makes you think about your life and your future. And BOY’Z II MEN!

What was the last TV series you watched on TV?

“Formula One: Drive to Survive” on Netflix.

What would be a good theme song for your life?

You know, I think about this a lot. And I have so many. But I’d say Jay-Z “On to the Next One” featuring Swizz Beatz. Or “Ruff Ryders’ Anthem” by DMX. Those two would be on the top of the list.

If you could be remembered for one thing, what would it be?

That I make people laugh. And that I make people feel comfortable and acknowledged. That I could help make people feel better.

Do you have a motto or a mantra you apply to either work, life, or both?

It’s interesting because I have it on my arm. It’s “The pack survives.” I joke about that, but I’ve always felt that. Sophie Turner from “Game of Thrones,” from the Stark family — Sansa Stark — had a tattoo on her arm of the dire wolf from the show. And it said, “The Pack Survives.” And I got it tattooed on my forearm. It actually rings true to me — it really does survive. The pack survives, your team survives, even your people survive — it’s kind of one of those things. You and your group; you and your people survive together, just like a pack of wolves.

How would you describe yourself in one word?

Tenacious. I had a professor say that to me once, “Sevier, you’re TENACIOUS.”

What would the closest person in your life say if we asked them, ‘What is the one characteristic that they totally dig about you, and the one that drives them insane?

The one they totally dig about me would be that I’m very passionate. And the one that drives them insane would be that I can be very stubborn.

What are your success habits?

My successful habits are me trying to consistently do the things that keeps me flourishing and prospering in life. Being consistent with the things that work — and also always looking at, and having others help me look at, the things that don’t [work].

What motivates you?

What motivates me is actually “life.” Like, people in life motivate me. And also the game of life. Playing life as a game motivates me.
