Nathaniel The Great is a recording artist and songwriter from Brooklyn, NY. Musiq Soulchild, Usher and Donny Hathoway were some of his musical influences early on. Giving contemporary RnB a fresh sound, blending hip hop and neo-soul makes it safe to say that Nathaniel’s talents are very unique.

Raised by a single mother of seven, in Brooklyn’s Fort Greene housing projects, singing in church and performing in plays were ritual early on. Before you knew it, a star was born. Nathaniel has worked with French Montana, Dj Khaled, Swizz Beats, LL Cool J, Casanova, Remy Ma, Fat Joe and Etc.

What first got you into music?

I grew up into a family of musicians. We all sang in church from birth, so it was mandatory for me.

Who inspired you to make music?

Other than my own family. Musiq Soulchild and Jay Z

Who would you most like to collaborate with?

Jay Z and Usher

Are you finding the isolation of the pandemic conducive to your writing or is it hindering the experiences you can write about?

The pandemic definitely allowed more time for me to focus on my craft, especially when the lockdown first happened. Since we couldn’t go anywhere, it only created time to work on music.

What is one message you would give to your fans?

I would like to thank them for always believing in me and following along with my journey.

What would you be doing right now if it weren’t for your music career?

If it wasn’t music, I would be in corporate America running my technology firm.

What was the last TV series you watched on TV?

Game of Thrones… its fire too… just long. I will never bing watch 8 seasons of anything again.

Which fictional character do you wish was real?

Goku

What’s your least favourite personality trait you like about yourself?

I’m a perfectionist who overthinks
