Gracie Jet has released her new pop ballad called “Bicycle”.

Gracie Jet was born in England, but moved to Ontario, Canada as a young girl. She has spent many years perfecting her craft in the local bar scene, and honing her vocals as well as lyricism. She mainly performed covers of great female artists like Sheryl Crow, Tracey Chapman and the Beatles, amongst others.

“Bicycle” is a love ballad with grand vocals from Gracie, and it builds into a really rich and textured song. It is set with a back story about childhood memories, and reminiscing on the past with a bittersweet lens:

“As a medicine bedside nurse I take care of very ill people but I get to know them and their loved ones. I have watched family members come into the hospital all the time to see their family members who are ill. Some of the admitted patients have dementia, Alzheimer’s or a brain injury and forget the people they love the most which is heartbreaking for the families and staff.”

“If my dad was one of these people, I would tell him of the time he taught me to ride a bike. When I first started learning to ride a bike I fell really badly and hurt my knee. Family’s struggle with the fact that a loved one has forgotten them but they are left with all their memories and scars.”

Gracie has written a powerful ballad about what happens when a family member begins to lose their memory, and the reality of accepting and dealing with it while still moving forward with life.

Many comparisons have been made with Adele; Gracie´s powerful vocals are not only strong, but with a depth and tone that carries a range of emotions.

Equally at home with piano pop and love ballads, Gracie has a passion for her music that really shines through. With a whole album´s worth of original material, Gracie Jet can now launch her career fully as a solo artist.

I fell in love with music when I first picked up a guitar at age 8. When I played, my friends and family would smile and spill with joy over the music I played, even though it was never Grammy quality. While my music career never made it past high school, my love for music never waivered. I loved the feeling of bringing a smile to someone's face through music and wanted to keep that passion going. So, I took it upon myself to continue to support and promote artists by writing about their music. This way, I can support my personal passion for music and bring entertain and joy to others through music.  Outside my love for music, I do enjoy a good hike and being in the outdoors. My favorite place that I've hiked is in Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah. I love to travel too. I've been to Costa Rica, Vancouver, BC, and England, but the best place by far is Germany on Oktoberfest. I liken that experience to being in New Orleans on Mardi Gras. I like a good book now and then, but I'm more of a streaming fiend. I live for crime docuseries on Netflix, veterinary shows on National Geographic, and re-watching Scrubs on Hulu.
