Tottenham-based artist common goldfish makes his debut with ‘Feel The Fuzz’, which encapsulates this South London native’s fascination and nostalgia for the era he grew up in – the 1990s.

You can hear this vital relationship ringing through the sonic influences of his first single. It’s all about uplifting old-school sounds and vibrant, ear-catching melodies over breakbeats and funk-inspired bass lines, blended with a modern production. Appropriately fuzzed-out guitars and jangling percussion set the listener smack bang in the middle of that unmistakably British genre. In short, ‘Feel The Fuzz’ creates an irresistible groove that stirs a sense of optimism in the listener.

Alongside the release of ‘Feel The Fuzz’, common goldfish is marking the occasion by throwing a launch party at Tottenham’s Markfield Skatepark on 6th March 2022. The event will see that act perform in the skatepark for an intimate audience, which will be filmed by BAFTA crew members for a music video, set to drop 21th April 2022.

“The track embodies the sense of dreamer’s optimism (“the fuzz”) and the feeling that led me to change career paths and pursue my passion in music. We only lead one life, Feel the Fuzz is about helping people see that they should value their experiences over materials and not always seek the easy options in life.”

common goldfish made a name for himself on the London gig circuit, performing at everywhere from Peckham Audio to Luna Lounge to The Salisbury, as well as the obligatory busking days along the canals of Hackney Wick. While he has used his own distinctive blend to create a sound with no limits, the artist cites the likes of Stone Roses, Primal Scream and Tame Impala as key influences

While ‘Feel The Fuzz’ is the first release as common goldfish, under the moniker J Love, his production and songwriting credits have received critical acclaim across a number of big hitting publishers including Mixtape Madness, New Wave Magazine and GRM Daily.
