There’s widespread debate over whether changing the inside of you is more significant than changing the outside. However, many of us can’t deny that changing our external appearance does have a positive impact on our attitude to life and how we feel about ourselves. Because of this, this article discusses the areas you could change on the outside to improve your confidence, and the way others address you, but to also express yourself by enhancing the way you look.

Our hair makes a massive difference to the way we look and feel. Not to mention choosing the style we’re going to adopt can be quite fun. From choosing snaps of styles you love online or collecting magazine clippings, hair is an excellent way to enhance your beauty and express the inner you. Whether you’re looking for hairstyles on-trend, or you want to experiment with a new look. If you wish to find out how you can turn your hair into dreadlocks or dye your hair the color of mahogany or bright blue. Your options are limitless with Youtube and professional hairdressers at the other end of the phone. The great thing about switching up your hair is that it’s something that can suit all budgets. Whether purchasing a box of dye from the shop or paying for a hair overhaul in the hairdressers.

Makeup

Mixing and using various cosmetics to create a particular look is an art form. Thus, it may take a bit of practice to get right – but that’s fine because it’s all part of the fun! Perhaps you have an everyday look that you’re thinking of switching up to upgrade your existing appearance or you really want to try natural cosmetic products for once. It doesn’t necessarily need to be anything outrageous either (unless you want it to be). Something as simple as adding black winged eyeliner or maybe glitter to your eyelids will make a subtle but effective difference. Or perhaps you could consider accentuating your cheekbones with some highlighter or overlining your lips for a fuller pout. When passing yourself in the mirror, whether at work or just hanging around the house, sometimes a spot of makeup can make us feel a lot happier with ourselves. Whether glitter makes you smile, or blush makes you feel glowy, it all makes a difference.

Cosmetic Changes

Beyond hair and makeup, there is the choice of instigating some permanent changes. Perhaps you love the idea of a more defined jaw, and so you may look at injection procedures to tighten your jawline. Or maybe you’re thinking about a touch of botox to relax a few wrinkles and a tummy tuck procedures to flatten your stomach. As people, years ago wouldn’t have had that kind of luxury we do right now. We really are quite lucky to live in an age where if we really want to change something on our body for good, we can!  Of course, with any permanent change, you wish to make in your life more thought is needed in comparison to buying a new eyeshadow or changing your hair.

Wardrobe Style

It’s not unfamiliar for people to downgrade the good feeling you can get from great clothes with style. For those who live a busy life working, momming, or studying, its probably become the norm to just stick on the same garments over and over. However, whether out of comfort or convenience, you could be missing a trick to really change your confidence and express yourself too.

Depending on your personality, current image, and lifestyle work alongside these and experiment with different clothes in-store to see what works for your body shape but also look at restyling your existing wardrobe too. Obviously high heels are no good if you spend most of your time walking to the park with the dogs. And pumps probably won’t cut it in a corporate office environment, but beyond this, think of different colors and cuts of clothing that could make a massive difference to your look. Take inspiration from media images, friends, family, and people you see around the city. Grab some ideas of what you like the look of and begin trying pieces on in high street shops and goodwill stores. This way, you can work out what does and doesn’t suit you. With each new piece of stylish clothing that you adore, your confidence will grow as your image improves.

With a few avenues to change the way you look above, you can massively change the way you feel about yourself too! If you’re worried about taking the plunge to change something externally, start small with semi-permanent hair dye. Or by allowing the makeup attendees at the store try some makeup on you first.
