Fresh off the heels of his newest groundbreaking single, “End of the World,” Zach Adam is back with a creative and innovative mashup of his song alongside some other famed hits from days past.

In “End of the Worlds,” Adam blends the gleeful feel of Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World” with Skeeter Davis’ 1962 hit “The End of the World” and his own similarly named song “End of the World.” The mashup features a slower and more intimate feel similar to that of Davis and Armstrong and captives the audience with emotional lyrics and piano piano-driven beat.

“By merging Skeeter Davis’s and my own ‘The End Of The World’ with Louis Armstrong’s ‘It’s A Wonderful World,’ I wanted to create a sonic tapestry that reflects the resilience of the human spirit. It navigates through the depths of sorrow to the heights of joy, illustrating that hope and despair are two sides of the same coin. This mashup is a testament to the power of music in conveying the complex, bittersweet nature of our existence.” – Zach Adam

Earlier this year, Zach Adam released a powerful and cinematic music video for the original version of the song. Directed by the talented Cameron Veitch (Tate McRae, Martin Garrix, Khalid, Bob Moses) and inspired by iconic fantasy franchises, Zach Adam catapults viewers into a post-apocalyptic world set in the year 2030. He stars as a lone survivor embarking on an epic quest, akin to the adventurous spirit of Indiana Jones, to find a missing piece of technology crucial for building a time machine. His mission? To travel back and warn his younger self about the impending apocalypse—a quest that encapsulates the high stakes of The Last of Us combined with the time-travel complexities reminiscent of Back to the Future.

Zach Adam’s goal in creating his mashup was to combine the themes in his single, such as climate change, nuclear disaster, AI, and the overall failures of humanity, and couple those with the juxtaposition of the melancholy tones of Davis’ song and the uplifting mood of Armstrong’s song. The marriage of these three tracks evokes a hopeful feel with Adam’s real and raw lyrics and Armstrong’s gentle nature. Zach Adam’s creativity shines through in this unexpected mashup, causing the listener to sit back and optimistically think about what the future holds. The track allows the audience to relate no matter what they may be going through in their life, whether they’re going through a breakup, reflecting on the state of the world, or writing a journal entry.
