The Honda BR-V is a light crossover that screams minimalistic without compromising on the essentials. It sports a great exterior aesthetic and inside, the BR-V is spacious and inviting. Available in both manual and automatic transmission the BR-V hosts a 1.5 i-VTEC engine, a mechanic renowned for its reliability and fuel efficiency.

At first glance, the BR-V exhibits a sturdy, muscular exterior with a thick chrome plate on its grill. It has a good ground clearance and goes around corners with ease (especially when considering its size and length!) The BR-V is a worthy off-roader as well further contributing to its classification of a multi-purpose vehicle. Refinement is promised with this vehicle that is close to silent when idling. Sporting the Bluetooth friendly infotainment system, the BR-V has you set up for the long road.

Space is the game changer for this vehicle. The 7-seater cabin allows for ample leg and headroom whilst maintaining a significant boot space. When the split seat option is utilized, the third row can be done away with to provide an additional space of around 460l. When looking at the dimensions, the BR-V measures at around 166mm in height and 4,453mm in length. These numbers suggest the BR-V may be one of the longer subcompact SUV’s within its class.

An output of around 88kW/145Nm can be expected from the BR-V’s 1.5l 4-cylinder engine. Automatic climate control, hill start assist and electronic brake distribution are some of the specifications featured by the BR-V range. While the inclusion of these specs depend on the model you opt for, Honda’s emphasis on safety is evidenced by the dual-airbag system and anti-lock braking system available for all variants.

The Honda BR-V is real value for money, with an entry price of around R246 100 the vehicle offers an exceptional drive at a reasonable price.
