British singer-songwriter Paul O’Brien releases his new original Christmas song, ‘Hey Ho Ho (It’s Christmas)’, out on all streaming platforms now. The track is accompanied by a music video featuring Paul playing live paired with animation.
Recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studio, the track celebrates being thankful for the year that has passed and for the friends and family that have loved and supported you, but also remembering those who can’t be with you at Christmas, which is particularly poignant following a truly turbulent year.
‘Hey Ho Ho (It’s Christmas)’ has everything you could possibly want in a Christmas song: thoughtful lyrics, bright instrumentals and a ruthlessly catchy chorus – so be prepared to be constantly humming the melody throughout this holiday season.
Speaking of the track, Paul says, “Christmas is not only a time for celebration, but also of reflection about what so many people mean to us in our lives, especially the ones most important to us. Unfortunately sometimes we can’t be with them for whatever reason, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t celebrate their importance and share it with others. I wrote ‘Hey ho ho’ to highlight the importance of rejoicing in that joy rather than regretting their absence.”
Originally from Godalming in Surrey , Paul started writing for fun 30 years ago and never stopped, “it’s the best therapy I know”, he says. Throughout his life, he has played in bands, busked and written songs for other artists. Being the youngest of four children, he grew up listening to a mixture of musical genres through his siblings, from Elton John and Queen, to Rush and The Eagles and 80s pop music. From a very young age, he knew he was hooked.
Paul O’Brien makes his musical debut this Christmas, with much more music to come.
