Featuring gospel trio W10, “They’re Callin’ For Six Feet” has the makings of a holiday classic, with a timeless feel, and a storytelling style that could be described as Dean Martin meets Shel Silverstein.
About Thunderclap!
Niagara Falls performance artist THUNDERCLAP! uses honesty and humility to develop an almost magical rapport with “every” audience he performs for. Performing all over North America & Western Europe, he’s shared the bill with acts like Hotel Mira, The Trews, The, Plastic People of the Universe, Jesse Roper, Mary Margaret O’Hara, & Tony Robbins, to name a few…
A live THUNDERCLAP! show harkens back to the traditional arch of story telling. The highly memorable originals are randomly sprinkled with a few choice covers, spoken word pieces, stories and improvisational banter with the audience. His days training as a practicing method actor in film & stage has no doubt led to what’s now an arguably “brave” spectacle that generally leaves the audience scratching their heads in all the right ways.
Due to his recent LP Strange Songs For Strange Times featuring acclaimed ‘Coast to Coast AM’ radio host George Noory, as well as the empathetic holiday tear jerker “Blank Slate”, THUNDERCLAP! has been played on over 75+ radio stations across North America & the UK through 2023/2024. Aside from continually cultivating his online presence, Mr. Clap is currently looking forward to entertaining future audiences with his constantly evolving presentations.
About the song: “They’re Callin’ For Six Feet” – released on December 9th
“It’s a nostalgic look back at crazy winters gone by and the nuances of life that are affected by it. It also explores view points from the young and old which is evident by the lyrics, and we wanted to find a timeless commonality that everyone can & would continue to identify with as long as the snow is blowing. . .
Around the holidays, I often get together with my friend and collaborator Joel Van Vliet and challenge ourselves to write a worthwhile Christmas/seasonal song. We both love it and always have a good laugh at what we come up with. We face each other on opposing pianos, brainstorm & riff. About 2 years ago, right after the recording of my last full length LP (Strange Songs for Strange Times), Producer/ Engineer Joe Lapinski and practiced musicians Kyle the Reptile & Mega set up a make shift studio in the back of my long gone Niagara Falls Pizzeria and recorded a bunch of holiday tracks & this song is from those sessions. I recorded the gospel trio W10 at Telejet Studios in Toronto soon after and many jingle bell jingles later – we finalized this song with a mix/ master from the talented Paul Gigliotti.”
