Miss Christine doesn’t hold anything back in their newest release, “Truth in Song”. Written by Christine Moad, the bassist and vocalist of the Iowa based band, the song is a rock anthem for this moment — a call to action for all of us to stand up and fight back.

“Truth in Song” will be released Oct. 30 on all major online music streaming outlets. Released just days before the general election, the single encapsulates the fight for justice. Opening with a catchy bass line and blunt lyrics, Moad shares an urgent message with their listeners: “We’re running out of time.” With raw emotion, Moad sings on the topics of racial justice, climate change, transgender rights, and healthcare. Driving guitars and a strong vocal melody give energy and spirit to this ambitious R&B-inspired single.

“At the beginning of 2020, I worked as a Field Organizer in Iowa and New Hampshire on the Bernie 2020 campaign. Being unable to tour because of the pandemic has given me a lot of time to reflect on my experiences as a musician and an activist. All of us have so much more power than we realize as individuals and it’s time for all of us to fight for social, economic, and racial justice within our communities,” said Moad.

In order to bring “Truth in Song” to life, Miss Christine partnered with Brett Ryan Stewart of Wirebird Productions. All musicians involved — Los Angeles-based drummer Jazz Robertson and Nashville-based guitarist Ellen Angelico and organist John Pahmer — recorded safely from their homes. Moad’s piano playing was recorded at Flat Black Studios in Lone Tree, Iowa. The original cover artwork is by Sabrina E. Dorsainvil of Boston. This single was created entirely in quarantine.

“Truth in Song” follows Miss Christine’s 2019 debut album, Conversion. Conversion is a collection of indie rock, new wave, blues, and soul-influenced songs about gender, personal strength, relationships, and politics. Its release caught love from Iowa Public Radio, V13 Media, Vents Magazine, and Celeb Mix.
