Musical Philosophy and Approach

Approach RGB’s music with an open heart; they create songs that serve as a comforting embrace in life’s ups and downs. Inspired by the acronym RGB, which represents the colors Red, Green, and Blue, they express that just like the pixels on your screen, music can change its hue based on your feelings and moods. Their goal is to lead you to a place where you feel accepted and connected, regardless of race, color, or gender, making it truly a “place for lovers.”

Introduction to their musical philosophy reveals an understanding that every emotion is valid and can inspire creativity. How would you describe the music that you typically create?

We like making music that’s a mix of happy with a touch of sadness. Our songs capture life’s lows but always carry a sense of hope, like a reminder that everything’s going to be okay—just embrace it, laugh, and keep going. We love creating catchy tunes that people can relate to, whether it’s about love, heartache, or just the ups and downs of life. Adding color to life is really important to us, which is why we named ourselves RGB. Just like how life and our emotions change, the colors and pixels shift too. We try to blend those colors into something vibrant, just like we do with our music. Whether we’re talking about the highs of love or the lows of heartache, we want our songs to make life feel a bit more colorful and real for everyone who listens.

What is your creative process like?

On our new album A Place For Lovers, many of our songs were written late at night, softly sung over the piano, which became a key part of the album’s nighttime vibe, but in general our creative process usually starts with Roy and Noi writing separately. Once we have a solid idea, we come together to add each other’s perspective into the song and create a simple sketch. We love surprising Alon with these sketches, and his input always adds something special. Then, we pick the songs we truly fall in love with and we all work together in our home studio to bring the song to life.  We love combining our ideas to create something meaningful together.

What is your current music project about?

A Place for Lovers is really personal for us because it dives into the complexities of relationships, especially when life gets tough. The album takes you through the emotional rollercoaster that comes with love—passion, jealousy, doubt, and everything in between. But at its core, it’s about embracing all those feelings—the highs and the lows— because to truly enjoy life, you have to accept it all. Each song tells a different part of our story, showing how love can be both beautiful and challenging and how finding light in the darkness and holding on to love, even when things get tough, is what makes life worth living.

What has been the most challenging aspect of your current releases?

The most challenging aspect of our current releases has definitely been managing everything independently. It’s a blessing because we have full creative control, but it also comes with its own set of challenges. We handle everything ourselves—from making the music at home to producing our own videos. Balancing all of that financially and mentally can be tough, especially since we all have our regular 9-5 jobs on top of our full-time commitment to RGB. There’s definitely a bit of a disconnect sometimes, juggling those different worlds, but we’re all about pushing through—fake it till you make it, right?

What is one message you would give to your fans?

If there’s one message to share, it’s that it’s okay to go through tough times—those “green” moments of doubt, jealousy, or sadness. They’re part of growing and finding your way. Hopefully, this album brings some comfort and reminds you that you’re not alone in what you’re feeling. The songs are about embracing those lows while holding on to love and the hope that things will get better. Even in the darkest moments, there’s light to be found, and we hope these tracks can bring a bit of that light, no matter how dim it seems right now.

If you were to write an autobiography, what would the title be?

If we were to write an autobiography, we’d probably call it The Band. We always joke that our band dynamic would make a great sitcom or musical—the ups and downs, juggling dreams, life, and relationships. It’s a story that’s probably familiar to every band in history, and we think our journey would make for a pretty entertaining read, but that’s something for the future.

What would be the ideal food to have cooked for you on a date night?

The ideal food would definitely be Noi’s gluten-free lasagna. We have this tradition during our “RGBreaks” where we take a week or two off to focus solely on the band. During these breaks, we always have dinner together, and Noi’s lasagna is the highlight. It’s amazing—no one can even tell it’s gluten-free, and it’s the perfect comfort food to share with everyone.

              What makes you nostalgic?

Old TV and music always make us feel nostalgic. There’s something about those childhood memories of falling asleep in front of the TV, where your dreams would mix with the shows. That’s actually what inspired us to create GTV (Green TV)—a space where we and our listeners can escape for a bit and reconnect with those comforting, retro vibes. It’s our way of paying homage to the past, with nods to old-school MTV and that fun, carefree energy. GTV is a little world we’ve built where you can relax, feel at ease, and just let go, even if only for a moment.

If you could learn any language fluently, what would it be?

Definitely Spanish. We love the language, it’s so beautiful plus, we have a small but growing fanbase in Spain and Latin America, so being able to connect with our fans there in their own language would be amazing. Roy’s actually already pretty good at it since he and Noi originally met in Mexico and traveled together. There’s even a joke between us that Noi only started traveling with Roy because she needed someone who knew Spanish. So, Roy’s on track but hasn’t quite mastered the language yet.

If you could ask your future self-one question, what would it be?

Did we make it? We’re joking, but still, we really hope this album resonates with listeners the way we envisioned, and that the love we poured into it spreads and comforts others, just like it comforted us while making it. We truly wanted to create A Place for Lovers.
