How would you describe your music?
My music is a blend of pop and rock, with focus on powerful vocals and energetic performance. I like to create songs that are both anthemic but also personal, trying to connect with people with catchy hooks & witty lyrics but hopefully leaving them with something meaningful to think about. It’s energetic, & soulful with influences from artists like Pink, Cher, and Demi Lovato. I hope people take away a sense relatability. Whether it’s heartbreak, empowerment, or resilience. Whether it’s through the lyrics or the energy of the sound, I want my songs to resonate with people, helping them feel seen and understood. I write about real emotions, whether it’s heartbreak, strength, or vulnerability. So my goal is for listeners to find pieces of themselves in the music and feel uplifted & permission to be their authentic self. Be unapologetically you, always.
Who inspired you to make music?
I sang my whole life & knew I always wanted to sing & perform. I didn’t actually start writing my own music till my 20s. I would say my family was definitely a huge inspiration for me to share my music. They just have such faith in me and are always lifting me up in a way that makes me feel like I can do anything. My sister is a great song writer also, she has always pushed me to grow, write and put out my music. I feel very blessed to have such a supportive inspiring family. Of course there are many artists that have inspired me through the years as-well. Connecting with other artist words, making you feel seen somehow, or happy, or want to dance! I knew I wanted to connect with other people this way through my music & my family definitely gave be the strength and guts to finally do this for myself.
Have you always been interested in music? Was there a particular song/performance that made you say “Woah! I want to do that!”?
I have literally always been interested in music! I have been singing since I was about 3 years old. It has always been my absolute favourite thing todo, just singing and performing for people. Seeing the happiness and joy sharing music can bring people. I was hooked from a very young age!
Definitely had sooo many artists that made me say to myself “I want that!” Growing up powerful singers & performers like Pink, Christina Aguilera, Beyonce 100% inspired my drive & passion to perform & sing for people!
What’s the best show you’ve ever played?
I have been blessed to have played a lot of shows w/ being a full time singer/ performer for the 8 years. To pick one show is sooo hard cause I am truly obsessed with performing for people and connecting with people that I genuinely always put it all out there on that stage. I will say though I did I have been blessed todo some very cool shows this past year that have been bucket list moments for me!
I did an intimate original show at a venue called guilt n co that was very special! I got to sing all my originals to a room of very special people in a room I have always wanted to play in! I also got to sing & perform for the Vancouver Canucks multiple times past playoffs season! Singing and performing for 19,000, people, genuinely the most thrilling shows of my life! Connecting with that many people, feeling that many people energy! All it did was confirm that I know this is what am meant todo and it made me so beyond excited for the future and hopefully many more shows like that to come!
If you could pass on a nugget of wisdom to the next musical generation, what would it be?
If I could pass on a nugget of wisdom, I would say always keep up positive self talk. Performing and singing for people especially when it’s your own personal art is so vulnerable & of course can be super intimidating at times! I always practicing self love and positive self talk so I can have the confidence to put on the best show I can for people I hopefully truly connect with a crowd of people through music. The music industry can also be a very tough space for anyone especially woman! There are so many unrealistic standards and unhealthy comparisons. So always be nice to yourself & in my experience the more love you show yourself the more you sit in your true authentic self & that’s what leads to a real connection with real people through your art. Always be Unapologetically yourself no matter what!
Are there any future releases coming out soon?
Yes!! I will be releasing my next single “Up & Away” next month followed by a-few more tunes in the new year! I have lost to share and I am soo excited for 2025!!
