At just 18 years old, this American country-pop singer-songwriter is taking the music world by storm. But how did she get her start, you ask? Well, let me tell you. Jordana began her career by posting covers on YouTube and Instagram, and let me tell you, they have racked up over 16 million views. That’s right, 16 million! Her very first cover was none other than Carrie Underwood’s iconic hit, Before He Cheats.
But Jordana didn’t stop there. Oh no, she kept on pushing forward and in October 2020, she released her debut single. And from there, she has independently released a slew of singles and her self-titled debut EP which dropped in April 2023. Talk about a rising star!
One of her singles, Guilty, has over 855k streams on Spotify and nearly 800k views on YouTube. And let me tell you, if you haven’t listened to it yet, you are seriously missing out. But don’t worry, because Jordana recently released another banger called New Friends, which is just a taste of what’s to come from her forthcoming album.

Keep your eyes and ears peeled for this rising star because she is just getting started. Trust me, you won’t want to miss out on what she has in store. So go ahead, hit play on one of her tracks, and thank me later for introducing you to your new favorite artist. You’re welcome.
Was there a particular song/performance that made you say “Woah! I know that music is for me and this is what I have to pursue”?
When I was 8 years old, my parents and I went to go see one of our family friends perform with his band, and he invited me to come up and play a song with them. I was so nervous walking up on stage, but as soon as I started singing, all of my nerves went away, and I just had the most fun ever. I remember afterward knowing for certain that this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
You released your new single “How’d You Do It” on March 8. What was the inspiration behind this song, and what does it mean to you?
“How’d You Do It” tells the story of losing your closest friend and captures the conflicting emotions you experience. One moment you can be angry at this person for how they treated you and sad that they’re gone, and the next, be remembering the closeness and wishing for them to come back. I wrote this song from personal experience, but it’s truly been incredible to hear how many of us, at all ages, have gone through this.
Any fun stories from the writing/recording process on “How’d You Do It”?
The writing session for “How’d You Do It” was so much fun. My goal with this song wasn’t to say everything perfectly or poetically, but to really write every line exactly how I felt it and how I would say it if I was talking to the person in the song. Because of that, the session flowed really well, and I feel like the song almost poured out of us. We recorded the demo right after writing the song, and a few weeks later, I went back into the studio to record a final vocal. But after comparing it to the demo vocal, I really felt like the demo vocal was so raw and emotional and fit the song perfectly, so we decided to use it in the final version of the song.
Earlier this year, you released a cover of Katy Perry’s song “Teenage Dream.” What drew you to this song and made you want to release an official cover for your fans?
I’ve always loved Teenage Dream by Katy Perry. It’s such an iconic song and even though the original version has an upbeat, pop production, I feel like it lends itself to so many different styles and takes on it. Last year, while I was messing around in my home studio, I began playing it on my acoustic guitar, and I was inspired to make a stripped down version of it. Around Valentine’s Day, I posted a short clip of my acoustic version, and it quickly got an incredible reaction – people started posting their own videos to my audio and asking me to release it. So, this year I went into the studio, and I’m so excited that I got to release my take on Teenage Dream!
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received during your career thus far?
The best advice I’ve gotten is so simple, but so important: just be yourself. My goal with my music has always been to write songs that people really relate to and that they see themselves in. I’ve always wanted to make music that people connect to and that makes them feel better than before they heard it. And I really feel like the best way to do that is by just being authentic and real.
If we were to look at the artists you are listening to, who would be on your playlist?
I’ve been listening to a lot of Jordan Davis, Kelsea Ballerini and Teddy Swims recently!
What’s next for you? Can we expect more new music in the future?
I’ve been working on so much new music that I can’t wait to share, so stay tuned!!
If you were to write an autobiography, what would the title be?
I think I would title my autobiography, “Work in Progress,” because I feel like no matter how much I learn and grow, I’ll always be a work in progress. I’ll always want to continue growing and improving, both as an artist and as a person. I believe there’s always more we can learn, and I think the amazing thing about being an artist is that we have that freedom to evolve.
You are a new addition to a crayon box. What color would you be and why?
I would be light pink because it’s my favorite color and I always want to brighten up my surroundings ????
What makes you nostalgic?
Watching old home movies makes me nostalgic because it reminds me of a really happy time in my life where I got to spend a lot of time with my family and loved ones.
If you could ask your future self one question, what would it be?
I would ask my future self what the biggest lesson I’ve learned is.
If you could learn any language fluently, what would it be?
I would love to learn Spanish fluently. One of our closest family friends growing up is from Mexico, and she used to sing to my brother and me in Spanish, so I picked up some of the language. I would love to become fluent and be able to converse with her in Spanish.
