What is the best advice you have been given?
“Adjust as needed.” Maybe a bit of a brutal statement, but I’ve seen it be a very important mindset when it comes to a lot of things both life and art.
If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
It would be great to have more women in production and engineering roles.

Eastwest Studios in LA, Electrical Audio in Chicago, and at home.
Would you have any advice for would-be artists or songwriters wanting to follow you?
Don’t edit or conform your sound to the level that it becomes more of an acting job than anything. If it’s your music, it should feel familiar to you in relation to yourself, not necessarily the outside world.
What is next for you?
I’m finishing an LP I’ve self-produced.
Do you sing in the shower? What songs?
Stevie Wonder, Sade, Regina Spektor. I strongly believe in shower singing both in and out of the shower.
If you could be a superhero, what would your superpower be and your superhero name?
Could BONZIE not be a comic book superhero moniker instead of a musician? I feel like she would have some kind of laser beam power.
What was the last TV series you watched on TV?
The “Curb Your Enthusiasm” series finale! Bittersweet!
What makes you nostalgic?
Pictochat from Nintendo DS…or Hatena flipbook from Nintendo DS. That’s a deeper cut, so that probably is more nostalgic to me.
