When speaking about the single, Jansen’s Jamz wrote “Taking the classic country twang, giving it a modern twist and telling a relatable love story, her new single is filled with raw, foot-tappin’ fun. And with her high-spirited vocal power adding a bit of sass, this country hoe-down will still be enjoyed the morning after.”

Today’s Country Music Magazine added “Finding your niche among a crowded country music scene is no easy task for an independent artist, and while there are no clear-cut blueprints for it, Maddie Leigh sticks her neck out on the line to take a solid risk with Morning After.”

In addition, Fierce & Fabulous Revolution also posted a glowing review, stating “Throughout this song, Maddie delivers a vibrant performance, which perfectly highlights the passionately characteristic tones within her angelic harmonies.”

“I really loved writing this song and the video was so much fun to shoot, especially with it being a comedic take on a one night stand,” Maddie explains.
