“This Time of Year” is the first single from my upcoming Christmas album and I am overjoyed to share it with you. I have wanted to record a holiday album for many years but it never seemed like the right time. Given the world we live in right now this seemed like the perfect year to create this record and share what Christmastime means to me.
Inspired by the many emotions I feel around the holidays, I co-wrote this title track with my husband Andrew Koss and GRAMMY nominated songwriter Felix McTeigue. Growing up in Ireland my parents always made our Christmases very special. Now I have a family of my own and I love creating the same joy and special memories for my children, but it is also the time of year when I miss my parents the most. It’s a bitter-sweet season for many of us, especially this year. This song speaks to both the joys of the season as well as the heartbreaking poignancy. – Maxine Linehan
