Wyndup Kid’s music is always delightfully straddling the line. He recognizes his talents but tries not to take himself too seriously. This results in a blast of rock and roll exuberance with a smile. The tunes liken themselves to a party on a motorized unicycle heading straight for the edge of a cliff – fast, thrilling, and just a little bit off.

What is the most useless talent you have?

My dad has always said that my brain is a well of useless information. I do not have the best memory, but I WILL remember your birthday!

Do you have a cherished childhood teddy bear or other stuffed animal sitting on your bed at home?

I have a bart simpson plushie on my bed that I’ve had since I was 8 and I cherish.

What would be a good theme song for your life?

I want it to be “The Sopranos” Theme but deep down I know it’s “Rocco’s Modern Life”

What historical Figure would you love to see in 21st century life?

Ledbelly

Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life?

Nicolas Cage

Do you have any superstitions?

I always lift my feet when driving over train tracks

What is your creative process like?

I like to put myself in a state of play whenever I create. It makes the process of writing, playing and recording feel incredibly intuitive.

What would you be doing right now if it weren’t for your music career?

I’m currently pursuing a degree in union and employment law because I was a garbageman for a while and it is something I am incredibly passionate about.

What lead you to become a music artist and what advice can you give to others aspiring to make a hit?

I began songwriting in high school because I felt it was the only way to communicate and I feel like creating music and trying to make a career out of it is a rejection of what people told me I should do with my life, so I feel a sense of freedom,

What is the best advice you’ve been given?

I met The Fonz when I was 11 and I asked him how to be a better musician and he said “we’re storytellers so in order to tell the story we gotta know the story, and we don’t know the story unless we live it. Live your story!”

How would you describe your music?

My music to me feels like a western movie playing inside of a burning movie theatre!
