Who would you most like to collaborate with?
I would love to collaborate with Morgan Wallen. I love both his writing and his sound. He also seems like a genuine and fun person; I think we’d get along well haha.
What would you be doing right now if it weren’t for your music career?
I would definitely still be some sort of entertainer… probably a news broadcaster. I’ve always felt the need to entertain since I was really young. I was always the kid making shows and movies on video cameras… editing things together for hours upon hours.
What’s next for you?
I’ll be heading back down South to co-write with some friends in November. We’ll start working on some brand-new material. I hope to land some more TV/Film placements with my music. It was such a blessing getting my song “Fade” placed on CMT. I just can’t stop thinking about how badly I want to pursue more in that field.
What sets your music apart? What is unique, or at least uncommon?
I honestly do not stick to one specific genre. I can’t really tell you about an artist since Linda Ronstadt that didn’t let themselves get shoved into some sort of a box. That fact is sad to me and disappointing. I understand when building a following, it’s easy to find a sound that works and to just stick to it but that whole idea sounds bland to me. I love to write and record various sounds spanning from Americana to Roots, Country, Pop, Rock, Alternative… I don’t like labeling myself as anything too specific because my heart doesn’t lay in one place. I have a love for many different genres. I don’t have a desire or feel a need to follow the traditional rules of sticking to a specific sound.
What do you enjoy most about being an artist?
What I enjoy most about being an artist is the power of making people feel understood. When people come up to me and tell me stories of how my songs have resonated with them; it’s a priceless reward.
What does your music say about you?
I think what my music says about me is that I have no problem with being vulnerable and I value honesty and rawness. I’m not afraid to talk about the darkest of subjects and the most difficult of times. I don’t like to sugarcoat things and I think a lot of society nowadays is made up of these sorts of jazzed up, rose colored portraits and it’s often just not realistic. Musically, I think my songs show that I don’t believe in traditional rules, and I believe in finding new avenues and routes that are not yet treaded upon. I think it’s an artist’s job to pave new paths and create new ways of doing things. I feel part of my life’s purpose is to not stick to the traditional layout of sound.
If we were to look at the artists you are listening to, who would be on your playlist?
My playlists are insanely all over the place and I could go on forever, but I’ll name a few artists I’ve been listening to a ton recently. Miranda Lambert, Trippie Redd, Hardy, Juice Wrld, BANKS, Charlotte Lawrence, Kip Moore, Joep Beving, Andy Shauf, Tyler Childers.
What are your plans for any future releases?
On November 12th, my next single “My Drama” will be releasing along with a music video that will proceed closely behind. I have the entire EP releasing early next year, can’t wait!
How do you deal with writer’s block?
I immediately whip out a bunch of book and open random pages until certain words strike me. If that doesn’t work, I like to turn on a tv show or movie, that always gets my mind moving.
What would be the ideal food to have cooked for you on a date night?
Ooh, pastaaaa! Pasta and wine every timeee!
What was the last TV series you watched on TV?
“You” on Netflix, that show is insane.
Do you sing in the shower? What songs?
If I want to be productive, I sing Italian and German songs from my classical training when I was younger, also the national anthem a lot. If I’m getting ready for a fun night out or something though…. I love to blast like BANKS, Travis Scott or Juice Wrld.
If you had to describe yourself as a flavour, what would it be?
Sweet Heat AHAHHA. Yes, that’s a real flavor, google it.
Sweet yet spiiiicyyyy!
As a kid were you ever frightened of a monster under the bed or in the cupboard?
I was afraid of spirits watching me, and n0 that has never gone away.
If you could learn any language fluently, what would it be?
Italian!
Are you a valuable asset on a Pub Quiz team?
Depends. I recently did trivia at a club in Jamaica when I was there and dominated it. It was about characters from childhood shows; got every question right… crushed that lol.
If you were captain of a ship, what would you call it?
Of course, I’d name it The All Knighters. Pun intended.
