Getting to know Liv & Brenna

Through the use of deep and light vocals, Liv seamlessly fuses her nostalgic melodies and beats with the honesty in her lyrics. Liv is a woman carving her own path in music and storytelling who uses her many strengths and interests to create music that is both bright and dark, real and magical.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Brenna grew up on stage, performing in a variety of musicals and theatrical productions. In addition to acting, Brenna has an intense passion for music. She loves to sing and also plays piano and guitar. Brenna collaborated with artist Liv Ritchie on a new single and is excited for the release.

What is the most useless talent you have?

Liv Ritchie: – “I know every word to Fergalicious by Fergie. I wouldn’t call it a useless talent tho.”

Brenna D’Amico – “I can whistle using my fingers obnoxiously loud! LOL”

Do you sing in the shower? What songs?

Liv Ritchie: – “I always sing in the shower. It’s a full-on concert. Recently, some of my go to songs include ‘Happier Than Ever’ by Billie Eilish and ‘Liability’ by Lorde. But I also write most of my music in the shower. It’s a very normal thing for me to have to get out mid shower, take a voice note, and then get back in. MOST of my songs have started in the shower. “

What would be the ideal food to have cooked for you on a date night?

Liv Ritchie: – “I find it so attractive when a guy can cook. For whatever reason, if he can can grill, he has won my heart. I don’t make the rules. Ideally though, I’ll take a grilled chicken with sweet potato fries and a mixed green salad with a balsamic vinaigrette.

What was the last TV series you watched on TV?

Liv Ritchie: – “Ted Lasso. My family and I all watched it together.  It was a good time. 10/10 recommend. “

Brenna D’Amico – “Cruel Summer. If you want to watch a super thrilling, well-done series with super talented actors and actresses, watch Cruel Summer.”

If you had to describe yourself as a flavor, what would it be?

Brenna D’Amico – “Definitely, salted caramel!”

What makes you nostalgic?

Liv Ritchie: – “Anytime I hear music from my childhood, it instantly takes me back. I will literally cry when I hear dynamite by Taio Cruz because it makes me think of driving to the zoo on a 5th grade field trip. I’m always attaching music to memories. That’s why I love music! We are constantly making a soundtrack to our lives. “

Brenna D’Amico – “The smell of vanilla. My mom’s favorite candles to burn are vanilla scented so whenever I smell vanilla it brings me a sense of home and comfort. Even the perfume I wear is vanilla!”

Do you have any lucky items, objects, or traditions?

Brenna D’Amico – “My lucky number is 8. Whenever I’m doing anything, I love, like being around really great people, being on set, or creating music, etc., I often see the number 8 somewhere. I’m not 100% sure what it means, but I think it might be the universe telling me that I’m on the right path and to keep going. I even have a plaque of an 8 on the wall next to my front door and I touch it for good luck every time I leave my place!”

How would you describe the music that you typically create?

Brenna D’Amico – “Even though playing instruments and singing isn’t something new for me, creating my own music is. I have a new single coming out sometime soon that I’m super stoked about. I’m still trying to find my sound, but I’m definitely connecting with pop/punk and ballad rock a lot.”

Who would you most like to collaborate with?

Brenna D’Amico – “I’m definitely dreaming big here, but Travis Barker, MOD SUN, The Kid LAROI, Kiiara, We Three, and Madison Ryann Ward. All of them are so uniquely talented in their own way and I would love to experience their creative process one day.”

If you could go open a show for any artist, who would it be?

Liv Ritchie: – “HARRY STYLES. Hands down. I’ve always been such a fan of his music. “

What is one message you would give to your fans?

Brenna D’Amico – “Trust, love, and believe in yourself. I know these things are easier said than done, but life becomes a lot easier and much more peaceful when you can be your own biggest fan and best friend; have your own back first before anyone else’s. “

Who are your top two favorite artists of all time? Why those artists?

Brenna D’Amico – “Gun’s N’ Roses and Harry Hudson!”

What is your top two favorite songs of all time? Why those songs?

Liv Ritchie: – “This is such a difficult question, but two of my all time favorite songs are ‘You’re All I Need To Get By’ by Marvin Gaye and ‘For Once In My Life’ by Stevie Wonder. I love LOVE and these songs have always felt like the purest, most wholesome version of love to me. “

What do you enjoy most about being an artist?

Brenna D’Amico – “I think we all feel less alone when we hear music expressing similiar troubles, emotions and frustrations we’re going through. And I escape and find solace through music that way. I hope my music will do the same for others.”

What can we expect from you within the next 6 months? Any releases planned? Future gigs?

Liv Ritchie: – “I’m releasing an EP! I am so excited! Don’t Want You Back is a stand alone song, but it is kind of introducing the sound of my EP. Get ready to dance!!!”

What is your current music project about?

Liv Ritchie: – “Don’t Want You Back is a song all about self worth. It’s about recognizing your value and learning when to move on from toxic situations.  This song has been so much fun to make, but also so healing.  I hope that it can empower others as well. “

Where was your last song recorded?

Liv Ritchie: – “Brenna and I actually recorded  ‘Don’t Want You Back’ on a horse ranch. It has become my favorite studio to go to because I’m a farm girl. They have horses, chickens, and goats. Such a dream!!!”

Was anyone else involved in writing, recording, or producing the songs?

Liv Ritchie: – “Yes!  We worked with my producer BAM, who I’ve been working with for a year now. Don’t want you back is the first song I’ve released with him. He is absolutely incredible! Kenyon Dixon also co-wrote this song with us! He is one of my favorite artists and I feel so lucky to get to work with him. He co-wrote everything on my upcoming EP as well.”
