Getting to know Eli

EliGosling

What is the most useless talent you have?

Probably being good at playing  diablo

If you could be a superhero, what would your superpower be and your superhero name?

My name would be SATAN, and I could teleport.

If you had to describe yourself as a flavour, what would it be?

I would describe myself as orange flavour

Which fictional character do you wish was real?

Always Spider-Man!

If you could ask your future self, one question, what would it be?

Are u happy.

If you were captain of a ship, what would you call it?

I would be called captain Mai, the name of the ship would be the golden falcon.

What is your creative process like?

Well, I love to sit down grab my guitar and start strumming, I always start with the melody which will just come to me, I also keep sketch books and tend to make pieces of art which will inspire the lyrics.

Who would you most like to collaborate with?

I would love to collaborate with Corbin, he is an amazing artist and I love his expression and the way he writes, basically the whole style of his music is just spot on.

If you could go open a show for any artist, who would it be?

Well, I would love to open for Yung lean, I have loved this artist for such a long time and his tunes are just full of individuality

Are you finding the isolation of the pandemic conducive to your writing or is it hindering the experiences you can write about?

I have really tried not to let the pandemic grind me down, I think that life is ridiculously different, but there is still so much to talk about, so the pandemic hasn’t hindered my songwriting, quite the opposite, it has freed up more time to be creative

Have you got a ritual of sorts when writing and thinking about your music?

I really like to relax and get into my zone and just jam out and find out what I want to write about.

If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

There are so many talented artists who haven’t had the chance to really get their music out there. I would love to shine a light on all of these artists

What about your music is rebellious, unconventional, or unusual?

I think that my music encapsulates my personality, everything I put out there is just what I love doing, this often means that my music doesn’t follow any specific rules. I just want people to be entertained when they hear my music or watch me play live

What are your ambitions as a songwriter and musician from here?

I’m taking things slowly at the moment, I want people to resonate with my music and perhaps change the way in which people view the world. Of course, I’d Iike to see mainstream success and make a living from my music. Thanks to everyone who has been listening to my music so far, big ups x

On May 21st, Eli Gosling released his soulful, indie-electronic offering ‘Milia Passuum’ via Goldun Egg Records. It follows previous singles ‘Dead bodies filled with Bacardi’, ‘Locked up’ and debut EP, ‘Blue Romance’ rel 11.09.20.

‘Milia Passuum’ opens with subtle melodic strums and a rich vocal, that eventually grow alongside a stirring electronic backdrop. Lyrically, Eli’s story continues to evolve as we are taken on an almost voyeuristic journey into the young artists world, where he opens-up, to make sense of the beauty and chaos in equal measures.

Eli said about the track “It’s about being miles away from someone you have a deep bond with, you’ve grown up together, but Like a seed to a tree, the branches slowly start to grow apart from each other, it’s inevitable as your world expands, but you never forget your roots. I’m experiencing all this right now.
