Growing up in Houston, Texas, Allison Asarch discovered her love for music at a young age. As a child, she would perform at her grandparents’ annual Christmas talent show, but it wasn’t until she reached 4th grade that she knew she wanted to make a career out of it. “My music teacher, Ms. Teagarden, had everyone singing and smiling…including the boys! I loved the joy music brought to me and everyone else.”

Raised on powerhouse vocalists like Tina TurnerShania Twain and Freddie Mercury, Allison began cultivating her own unique sound while attending Otterbein University’s School of Music in Westerville, Ohio. It was there that she began teaching herself how to play the guitar, while also taking piano lessons during her freshman and sophomore years. She was also a member of the school’s choir, training in classical opera and traveling to Ireland and Germany to perform.

In 2018, Allison moved to Nashville, Tennessee to start chasing her dreams. When the Coronavirus pandemic hit in early 2020, she seized the opportunity to start recording and releasing her own music. Heavily influenced by Taylor Swift, Allison combines country, pop and jazz elements in her songs. In September 2020, she released her first single called Taylor Made. That same month, she appeared on the Netflix Original show “Sing On!” where she took first place and won over $42,000. She followed up with the releases of several subsequent singles, including Sippin’ on Somethin’Summer StyleCotton DressNeon Nobody and Midnight Daydream.

In late 2021, Allison began performing Country music and classic Rock n’ Roll hits with her band on Broadway, Nashville’s legendary strip of honky-tonks. Her debut album entitled “Texas to Tennessee” was released on February 11, 2022, and is currently available on all streaming platforms.

Allison was nominated for “Rising Star of the Year” for the 2022 Josie Music Awards, whichtook place in October at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, TN. In November of 2022, she concluded her first fan-funded tour across the US.

In December 2022, Allison’s single “Taylor Made” reached #1 on the aBreak58 Playlist. “We get a ton of music each week from all over the world,” aBreak Music CEO, Bruce Tyler, explains. “When the A&R team heard ‘Taylor Made,’ the immediate consensus was that it was special.”

On April 14, 2023, Allison released a romantic, ballad-version of Hootie & the Blowfish’s “Only Wanna Be with You.”

An advocate for female empowerment, Allison is building her team around talented women. “I know there are wonderfully accomplished women who play instruments, sing backup vocals, produce and create. I want to help shine a light on those women and organizations the best I can!”

What first got you into music?

I always joke and say that it started from when I was in my mother’s womb.  I “saw” The Eagles while she was pregnant with me, and music has just been in my bones ever since! I was raised on classic rock artists that my parents would sing around the house, in the car, and I was lucky enough to attend live concerts often.  My first ever concert (that I don’t remember, but know I was there for) was to see LeAnn Rimes when she was 14.  I was 3 or 4 at the time and apparently, she made eye contact and sang to me! I think singing was something I was born to do, and I was constantly surrounded by music wherever I went.  I love to entertain, and I credit that to all the I’ve been able to see live or watch on TV specials.

With the pandemic, how have you found a way to get your music and your message out there?

At first, I think a lot of people struggled because we were so used to connecting with fans at live events.  Luckily for where I was in my career, it gave me a lot of time to get better at my craft.  I was able to take more guitar lessons, I wrote often, and even recorded most of my debut album.  The pandemic taught many musicians that it was still possible to create in a safe way and reach our fans and audience better than ever before.  We all had something to relate to and being able to share my music through the connection of social media has grown my connection with my fans immensely.

Where have you performed? What is your favourite and least favourite venues? Do you have any upcoming shows?

I’ve been touring all over the country and it has been such a blast! I’ve played in Georgia, Colorado, Florida, Texas, Tennessee, and Ohio.  I’m adding North Carolina to the mix this fall and working on a few more states as well!  I love meeting new fans along the way.  I don’t have a favorite venue yet, but I’m about to play my biggest venue in Denver this summer at the Civic Center Park.  I am so so excited to play there with a full band.

If you’re reading this and would love to have me play wherever you’re reading from… PLEASE reach out to me on any of my social media! I’ve been reaching out to so many venues this past year, many ignore but few respond, and I love adding new cities, states, or even countries to my tour list!

In your opinion, how do artists in this industry stay on top of the game when faced with so much competition? What’s the secret to making yourself noticed?

I really really enjoy lifting other women in this industry up as much as possible.  I think some of our society and industry aim to put women down and to this day there are still men who think women are not worthy of being on the radio.  I had someone tell me that women “age out” at 29.  Well, I am just now getting the ball rolling on my career, and I disagree wholeheartedly.  I am part of a group of women in Nashville who are focused on helping each other with our engagement on social media and lifting each other up.  It is so so important in this day and age to continue letting women know that we have a place in this industry.  In front of the camera, behind the scenes, in any way possible! I think that once everyone does this, it’ll change the industry completely and make it a more positive place for women.

Have you always been interested in music? Was there a particular song/performance that made you say “Woah! I want to do that!”?

Yes 100% – music has always been an important part of my life.  I think some of my favorite moments with music are going to live concerts. I really enjoy taking notes from each entertainer I watch.  Their stage presence, how they interact with the crowd, and how they put on an amazing show.  I enjoy going to music festivals because you can see so many bands at once, which is just amazing!!  I get so inspired watching all the new artists that I’ve never heard of before just having a blast on stage! I can’t wait to get to do that soon!

How do you go about writing a song? Do you have a melody in your head and then write the other music for it?

Living in Nashville, there are so many talented writers here that I LOVE co-writing with.  I even co-write over zoom with people who don’t live in Nashville, this became a great way to write during covid too!  Lots of my writes are similar, some are different.  It just depends on who you’re writing with or what their style is.  Some people I write with, we finish a song in an hour, some it takes us over 4 hours.  Sometimes when writing with a specific person, songs can just click and sometimes you aren’t the right fit for a different artist or co-writer.  I love to learn new things and new techniques and the best way to do that is by writing with new people and to continue creating in new ways.  I have so many amazing songs that haven’t been released yet, and I can’t wait to share those with you soon!

What was the last TV series you watched on TV?

Night Agent! Watched that right after finishing season 2 of Shadow and Bone! Both shows are on Netflix and are total opposites.  If you’re a 24 fan, then Night Agent is 100% up your alley.  Lots of action and thrilling elements.  I can’t wait for them to make another season!  Shadow and Bone is a mythical type of show.  If you like The Witcher, then you’d enjoy Shadow and Bone.  All the story lines and character backgrounds are so elaborate.  There is no way you could have just one favorite character.  Plot twists left and right with that one too 🙂

If you could ask your future-self one question, what would it be?

When do we get to meet Taylor Swift!? Soon!? Do we collaborate!? 😉

What’s your most expensive piece of clothing?

I don’t have a very expensive piece of clothing, BUT I have over 10 pairs of cowboy boots…. So, all together… I’d say those add up for sure.  My first ever pair I got when I was a senior in high school, and I still wear them to this day! I have many different pairs.  I have plain brown or black ones, I have white ones, I have ones with turquoise or gold detail, fringe ones, and a couple red pairs.  They go with all of my wardrobe especially for when I’m on stage.  I have been given some as gifts, and I’ve thrifted some as well.  I have a pair that is too small for me, but I only wear them on the 4th of July.

Do you shout out the answers at the TV whilst watching quiz shows?

Absolutely!! I LOVE watching Jeopardy, but I only really know the pop culture questions.  I always scream out the answers even if I’m wrong.  I also love watching Family Feud or Chain Reaction!  I grew up watching GSN and will watch these shows on occasion when I see them on TV now 🙂

If you were talking to a younger version of you, what advice would you give yourself?

I would tell myself that because we stuck to our dreams, many of them became a reality.  We always followed our gut and that helped us get away from the people who doubted us and wanted to keep us small.  Our work ethic and determination helped us find venues and amazing people who love what we do.  Our positive energy made tough times a lot easier and help keep us going strong every day!
