Hayley Kiyoko has announced her Atlantic Records debut with her CITRINE EP, set to arrive at all DSPs soon.
The CITRINE EP was recorded earlier this year, with all songs produced by 4e (The Neighbourhood) and Bram Inscore (Troye Sivan, Beck). CITRINE – which takes its name from the amber gemstone known in crystal work for its powerful healing energies – includes the new song, “Gravel To Tempo,” available now at all DSPs. The self-empowerment anthem is accompanied by an equally powerful and playful companion video – written and directed by Kiyoko – which premiered on Friday via Refinery 29.
“The music video is about realizing that the only validation you need in life is from yourself,” says Kiyoko about the self-directed video for “Gravel To Tempo”. “I chose high school as the setting because it’s a pivotal moment in your life where you naturally develop insecurities. As long as you know your self-worth, you can overcome anything.”
Kiyoko will herald CITRINE with a jam-packed live schedule including North American support dates alongside Downtown/Atlantic recording group Miike Snow, which kicked off, August 6th. Other highlights include a highly-anticipated appearance at the Billboard Hot 100 Music Festival, set for August 20th. Additional For complete details, please visit www.hayleykiyokoofficial.com.
Hailed by US Weekly for “giving a whole new meaning to pop anthems,” singer, songwriter, director, artist, and actress, Hayley Kiyoko made waves with last year’s independently released “THIS SIDE OF PARADISE” EP and its remarkable single, “Girls Like Girls.” The entrancing track earned massive online attention and more than 11 million streams at Spotify alone. The “Girls Like Girls” companion video – written and co-directed by Hayley and Austin S. Winchell – proved an even bigger smash, drawing more than 43 million individual views at Kiyoko’s official YouTube channel.
“THIS SIDE OF PARADISE” proved the multi-platform new star’s pop breakthrough, earning her widespread attention for tracks including “Cliff’s Edge,” again accompanied by a Kiyoko-directed video that premiered via The Fader before receiving nearly 12 million views at her official YouTube channel.
Kiyoko’s dynamic creativity and artistic ambition seemingly know no bounds, spanning lead roles on TV and film projects like CBS’ “CSI: Cyber,” “Vampire Diaries,” Insidious 3and the upcoming Netflix Original Movie, XOXO (set to premiere August 26th).
