Two years after her last release, Emily Sara re-enters the scene with a new single, “Let Go of Losing You.”

The song speaks to the fear of falling in love and the courage it sometimes takes to let a good thing happen. A ballad with a vintage, pop/R&B feel, Emily Sara blends poetic lyricism with soulful vocals to bring the listener on a journey inspired by personal experience and Bonnie and Clyde’s tragic love story.

Pulling from powerhouse female artists like Amy Winehouse, Alicia Keys, Fiona Apple, and Sammy Rae, Emily Sara brings a unique spin to the indie pop/R&B realm. Trained in opera, jazz, musical theater and pop vocal techniques, she draws from many genres and styles in her songwriting. Her last EP “Mismatch” explored identity and belonging as a Middle Eastern American woman living in the Midwest. Now located in Brooklyn, she continues to write on female identity in its multitudes through her personal experiences and through the eyes of female characters she’s met in film, literature and mythology.

“Let Go of Losing You” was written by Emily Sara, performed by Emily Sara, Alex Quade, Liam Myers, Matt Jaekel, Ian Carter, Neumi and Jake Tavill, produced by Jake Tavill and Alex Quade, mastered by Gabi Grella.
