Internationally acclaimed electronic dance / house artist Kim Cameron (aka Side FX) is pleased to announce the upcoming release of her Greatest Hits album, a compilation of 11 of her most celebrated songs over the past decade as well as 4 new tracks.
Having released 10 albums since 2008, the multiple award-winning artist has been recognized as the only independent artist to chart with 5 songs from a single album (her No Regrets album, released in 2015) and hit the Top 20 on the Billboard Dance Club chart twice. Cameron’s Greatest Hits album includes tracks that feature collaborations with some of the top producers and DJs in the industry, including Billboard charting, Grammy-Nominated Mike Rizzo and DJ Steve Migliore as well as UK dance music group Bimbo Jones who have remixed scores of artist tracks, including Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue, Maroon 5 and P!nk. The album is set to release on January 19, 2018.
Originally from the Los Angeles area, Kim Cameron moved to a number of states in the US with her family before settling in Nebraska where she earned her college degree in broadcast journalism. Growing up, she had played the clarinet in her school orchestra and marching band as a child and eventually landed musical theatre roles and sang in choirs in her young adult years. After college, she worked as a radio personality in Lincoln, NE and later worked for information technology companies in their media departments. While continuing to work in the corporate world, she moved to Washington DC where she began her musical path by joining a local cover band in the early 90s. After a decade, the band broke up and Cameron decided to leave her corporate life and pursue music full-time. In 2008, she released her first album, Contradictions, which was produced by award-winning music producer and engineer, Marco Delmar (Producer of the Year at the Washington Area Music Awards for 13 years) from Recording Arts music studio.
In the following nine years, Cameron’s dance songs skyrocketed to the top of the Billboard and DJ Dance charts in the US and earned spins at AAA, CMJ and Top 40 radio stations nationwide. After signing a short-term record deal with Realize Records in 2010, Cameron toured the US three times, in 21 states as well as the Caribbean and the UK. She achieved Billboard Top 40 radio success with her track “A Dance” in 2011, which hit #31 on the Adult Contemporary Top 40. Her single “Paradise” hit #31 on the Billboard AC chart, where it remained for 16 straight weeks. In 2013 and 2014, her singles “Not Into You” and “Now You’re Mine” both hit the Billboard Top 20 respectively. In 2015, Cameron released No Regrets, which had 5 number #1 songs on several national DJ charts as well as charting on commercial radio in the US and internationally. In addition, Cameron’s music videos have garnered over 2 million YouTube views. Her songs and videos have won numerous awards over the years, including Best Music Video at the 2017 Switzerland International Film Festival for her “Wanna Go” video, the DJ Times #3 Most Added and Top 30 albums for her Entwined album, and Silver Medal Best Dance Song for her song, “Moon on the Water.” She also won Best Emerging Female Artist of the Year at the 2017 Indie Music Channel Awards. Cameron has also performed as the headlining artist for the Army-Navy Gala at the Washington Convention Center, and performed the National Anthem for NFL’s Washington Redskins as well as for the Giants vs Steelers game in NYC to over 68,000 audience members.
Today, Cameron lives in Miami and continues to write, produce and perform her own music in nightclubs and music venues around the US. Cameron’s single “Dancing in the Dark” has hit #30 on the Official DJ Times Dance Chart as of the date of this press release.
