Breathing new life into a timeless classic, Ben Haenow has put his own spin on Commodores’ revered hit ‘Easy (Like Sunday Morning)’. The platinum selling artist’s acoustic rendition magnificently presents the song in a new light while maintaining the spirit of the original.

The cover’s stripped-back production allows Ben’s incomparable vocals to take centre stage and it provides a soothing listening experience that perfectly mirrors the carefree message at the heart of the track. His soulful reinterpretation beautifully adds to the song’s incredible legacy.

Ben’s version of ‘Easy (Like Sunday Morning)’ was recorded exclusively for Double J Music‘s third ‘Café Covers’ album. The former X Factor winner will feature on the record alongside fellow established singers including: Jack SavorettiCharlie Simpson and Karen Harding.

Reflecting on his new release, Ben Haenow said:

It’s always a pleasure to feature on the ‘Café Covers’ albums alongside all of the other incredible artists. The vibe is always cool and the Double J Music guys are always a dream to work with.

Chilled acoustic covers are a favourite of mine and I love having a chance to put a more laid-back feel on classic or contemporary songs. This time around it’s ‘Easy’ by Commodores which lyrically really lends itself to a more relaxed feel. My brother Alex laid down the guitar for the track. We’re both big fans of the original and it’s such a classic that we didn’t feel the need to change anything up too much, so have kept it pretty true to the original. Sometimes less is more.

Easy (Like Sunday Morning)’ by Ben Haenow is available now on all digital platforms. ‘Café Covers, Vol. 3’ will follow in its entirety on the 15th March. Physical copies can be pre-ordered via HMV and Amazon.

Double J Music’s first two ‘Café Covers’ compilations both enjoyed chart success and they have proven to be extremely popular. For the first two instalments, Ben acoustically reimagined ‘Heart of Glass’ by Blondie and ‘Sexual Healing’ by Marvin Gaye.

Since rising to prominence, Ben Haenow has established himself as one of the UK’s greatest musicians. The accomplished singer-songwriter, who is renowned for his exceptional vocals, has sold more than one million records worldwide and accumulated over 64 million streams on Spotify. Ben’s undeniable talent as a live performer has taken him all over the world and he is set to achieve further greatness in 2024.
