Toronto native and emerging pop artist Allegra Jordyn has just released her newest single, “Talk of the Town.” The constant hunt for someone’s attention can be tiring, especially when it’s not valued or appreciated, which is what Allegra preaches in the song. “I wrote it about somebody who was garnering so much attention from everybody around them, and I started to feel like my attention wouldn’t make any difference in their life if they had so much of it already,” says Jordyn. A video for the single is set to be released on August 25th!
“Talk of the Town” will have you on the verge of tears yet vibing to its pop/rock rhythm. Produced and mixed by Chris Grey and mastered by Reuben Ghose, Allegra Jordyn’s soft but powerful vocals stand out between the nostalgic 80’s hit beats. The relatable lyrics paired with the ghostly echoing sounds set the stage for an emotional and raw yet danceable track that you may listen to with your close group of friends because only they may understand exactly what the song preaches and how you feel.
“Talk of the Town” ultimately is an anthem for the givers out there to feel less alone and also learn when to put up the guard and say, “enough.” Sometimes the more you give, the more people feel entitled to ask more from you, especially if it’s someone who’s used to having a lot of attention from everybody. Here is where Allegra’s anthem comes in and gives you hope that there’s someone out there who will appreciate your efforts and attention.
