Having received support from NME, Clash Magazine and Music Week, been placed on Spotify’s The Indie List, Hot New Bands and Fresh Finds, plus selling out headline shows across the nation, alternative rock quartet Shanghai Blues are back bigger and better than ever with the release of ‘On My Mind’ April 24th.

Childhood friends hailing from Walthamstow, East London – Shanghai Bluesare James Chalk (Vocals, Bass), Reece Ismael (Guitar), James Heed (Guitar) and Mike Stinton (Drums). Although having only formed two years ago, Shanghai Blues have already travelled the length and breadth of the UK and continue to sell out shows to their ever-growing fanbase. 

Known for their raucous live stage presence, they have already made a name for themselves with slots at The Great Escape (Alt) and City Sound Project, alongside tour dates with Neon Waltz, Glass Caves, Theme Park, Palace, The Rifles, JUDAS and Y.O.U.N.G, with their shows drawing the attention of Music Week, The Evening Standard and NME

The band have already featured on several tastemaker playlists includingThe Indie List, Hot New Bands and Fresh Finds, plus support at Apple Music (Best OfThe Week) and from Abbie McCarthy (BBC Introducing, Radio 1). 

Off the back of their hit single ‘LIES’, the band have found a comfort within their sound and from this has come a vast maturity to their songwriting. This coupled with a hugely diverse array of influences from artists including Jimi Hendrix and Dinosaur Pile-Up has helped create emotive songs that speak on many levels.

 With soaring indie anthems that’ll soon be filling arenas, Shanghai Blues return with ‘On My Mind’ April 24th via AWAL..
