Flynn Marks is a fresh new talent on the UK singer-songwriter scene, released his first single ‘Crown’ on Friday 23rd Oct.
Flynn’s rich soulful voice and fragile melodies showcase a talent way beyond his years, his innate skills as a storyteller has led him to write & record two albums worth of material in his South London bedroom studio all before his 21st birthday.
Flynn Marks’ love of music is in his blood, he began singing at 5 with his local choir, trained classically until he was 10 and at 13 picked up his first guitar where he discovered he had a gift for songwriting. Influenced by the ebbs and flows of everyday life in London Flynn’s songs narrate the trials and tribulations of being a post millennial teenager .
As he explains “I wrote ‘Crown’ in my first year at university, after one of many emotionally fuelled nights out.
Ultimately, the song exposes my feelings of wasting time on someone I liked, and although it seemed reciprocated at the time, with the gift of hindsight – it’s obvious they just craved the attention rather than me.
When you’re young, navigating your way through the ‘snakes and ladders’ of a relationship is hard, especially in 2020. Crown’ attempts to paint a picture of my personal experience.”

At 16 Flynn was accepted into the prestigious Brit School (Adele, Amy Winehouse, Kate Tempest, & Loyle Carner) where he crafted his songwriting and began to truly understand himself as an artist.
Performing live is also key to Flynn’s DNA, he has always sought solace and strength from his live performances and his connection with the audience, from a young age he performed at such prestigious venues as Camden Assembly Halls, The Ivy House, and St Pancras Old Church. Flynn recently brought the house down at one of Jamal Edwards SBTV shows leaving the audience clamouring for more.
“I have always been able to connect with an audience at my live shows, taking them on a journey with me as I perform my songs. There is no greater honour when I finish a set and the audience is stunned into silence before the applause. Obviously, it’s difficult to play live now but I’m looking forward to be out in front of an audience again soon.”
Flynn has finished his degree at Goldsmiths University in London and is preparing for the next part of his journey as an artist; releasing music, playing live and connecting with fans.
“I’m ready for my music to reach a wider audience, I want to share my stories and music with people, the time feels right.”
