Charles’ ‘Easy’ is a pared-down, slow funk song about his parents, the difficulties of life and the importance of taking a step back to relax, kick-back and smell the roses. Using a unique blend of deep, earthy vocals, simple keyboard melodies and the occasional horn; Charles creates a chilled out, catchy tune, perfect for lounging out in the midday sun.

‘Easy’ is taken from Charles’ latest EP, ‘On Trend, Hungry and Broke’, the song comes in as the first full-length track, right after the intro. The EP contains three singles and two interludes, with ‘Easy’ being the focus single of the artist’s debut project.

Charles on ‘Easy’.

“I wrote ‘Easy’ for my parents. I wanted to give them a song they could listen to and remind them to chill out. As I got older and experienced my own issues and the stresses of life, it gave me a better understanding of what my parents and most parents go through on a daily.

Raising 3 children, money issues, being an interracial couple when it wasn’t fashionable, and just frankly going through things that all adults go through. Life is hard and I wanted to give them a small bit of happiness when the world at times can feel like it has you cornered. Produced by Mathias Boman, ‘Easy’ will take you back to a time of old soul and have you looking forward to better days.”

With a distinct musical style and eccentric taste, Charles sets himself apart from the crowd delivering hybrid funk with strong production and a unique vocal performance across the board.
