Katy Hurt releases her next single “The Kiss”, a delicious slice of contemporary country-pop which is now released to radio. This will be her third single from the upcoming debut album, meaning it is another step closer to the full release.

“I cannot thank you enough for all the support you have given me so far on this journey, sending my last two singles “Sounds Good In A Bar” and “Wish I Could Give You Up” to Number 1 on the UK Country iTunes charts… can we get “The Kiss” to join them and hit the trifecta?!” – says Katy

With two singles currently on CBC, Sirius XM and KIX Australia this year has been the most incredibly rewarding and exciting period of releasing music yet. Katy is at the Canadian Country Music Awards this week-end having just performed at the Pre-Party.

“I’ve written a lot of songs that captured the darker moments, so it was about dang time that I let some light in. When Gab Zsapka and I sat down and started working on “The Kiss” it felt like sunshine. It comes from a place of genuine love and excitement and captures all the feelings that come with first time romance. It’s the true story of my first kiss with “the one” and I hope it makes you turn the radio up, dance around your room and sing into a hairbrush microphone like no-one is watching! “

Emerging as one of the most prominent artists from the UK country music scene, BCMA nominee Katy Hurt has won accolades such as the UK Country Music Spotlight Awards for Female Vocalist of the Year, Best EP, Best Song and Best Video and played major festivals such as Country 2 Country at the O2 Arena, Pilton Party on Glastonbury’s famed Pyramid Stage and the Isle of Wight festival.

Katy spent time in Canada, which she considers her second home, writing and recording a host of songs including her latest two singles “Sounds Good In A Bar” and “Wish I Could Give You Up”, which both went to Number 1 on the UK iTunes charts on the day of release and were subsequently added to rotation on CBC and Sirius XM and play-listed on Amazon Music.

The tracks, which were produced by Juno Award-winning producer Murray Pulver (Doc Walker, The Bros. Landreth), mark the first two singles from her debut album. Her songs straddle the line between Southern Rock, Modern Country and Americana and are upheld by buoyant and agile vocals reminiscent of her musical icons. With nearly a million global streams, Hurt recently garnered the attention of Canadian-based music group, Johnson Talent Management (JTM) which recently led to the signing of a worldwide management deal.
