Introducing Gothenburg’s very own Isabél Murgelas, also known as I.M the artist. She is a 24-year- old alternative singer-songwriter and creative from Sweden, based in London.
I.M the artist creates from the soul, and her audience adores her raw, personal, story- driven music. Her debut EP ‘Self- Made’ (2019) gained local recognition, racking up 30k streams. Succeeding her EP, she released ‘Bleeding Blue’ (2020) — a song that colourfully describes the complicated dynamic of aging friendship and tested loyalty, followed by her 3-part extended single ‘Before You Go’ — an emotionally vulnerable project that takes the listener on a journey through loss and the stages of grief. It was partnered with her first official music video, which she executively produced. “I really feel that music has the ability to bridge a connection between us all. Art has the power to heal… it’s a beautiful thing.”
I.M the artist has received great responses from her audience and press attention from publications such as Music Republic Magazine, BUZZMUSIC, Niji Magazine, About The Noise & Second Society Report. She’s also featured on Maritime Radio London, Voices Radio, Chicago’s A&O Radio and Radio Free Brooklyn. Using symbolism and samples her next single ‘Tokyo’ (2021), inspired by her love of film, was released alongside a self-directed & produced music video, further es- tablishing her vision for the project. Her new single ‘Sleepwalking’ brings a fresh and abstract take on the “strangers to friends to strangers” narrative.
With her powerfully soulful vocals, intimate lyricism, ambient and experimental production, this alternative pop record stands apart from all others.
I.M the artist is a dedicated student of the craft that she’s influenced by and she constantly strives to progress within her sound, authentically reflecting the transitional periods in her life, through her work. From a young age, she was exposed to music, film and dance, and these became cherished mediums that she’s used to express herself and navigate her youth.
Determined to forge her own path and pursue her dreams, she attended Arts Educational Schools London in 2015, graduating with a Diploma in acting and 3 A-Levels in music, music technology and psychology. With her creative ability and passion, she landed herself at Safo Music Group in 2018, and began producing and recording her music professionally.
As of 2021, I.M the artist records at The Inscape Studios, in Hackney Wick. Ready to showcase her talent and play her music all over the world, I.M the artist and her new single ‘Sleepwalking’ will be available to stream on 01.07.22 on ALL MAJOR STREAMING PLATFORMS.
