Entering 2022 with just as much momentum as he left 2021, Bradford-born singer-songwriter Asher Knight releases his brand new single ‘Survive’,
Leaving last year on a high, Knight shared his playful pop anthem ‘By The Way’, a feel- good tale of the nuances of being in love. Continuing this theme, however, unveiling a slightly different side to love, ‘Survive’ surfaces those very relatable feelings of uncertainty and fear of loss. Placed on a bed of keys, Knights lulling vocals gently beckon his listener into his world, meanwhile transporting them out of their own, as he sings about his tumultous experience.
In his own words, Knight explains;
“Being in love isn’t straightforward always, scared that possibly the person you love isn’t feeling the same and wanting reassurance. ‘Survive’ touches on the fact that you don’t know what you will do without the person you love.”
Co-writing the track with writer/producer duo Red Triangle, known for their work with KSI, Charlie Puth, Little Mix, James Arthur and Camilla Cabello to name just a fraction of their musical web, Knight not only has the endorsement of his continually growing fanbase but also certified music talent within the industry.
The single comes as the final instalment ahead of Asher Knights debut EP “Still Standing” out on the 18th Feburary. Alongside it’s release, Knight will be supporting fast-rising boy band Here At Last on their Manchester (O2 Academy) and London (O2 Academy Islinghton) dates, playing a set-list of his love-laden singles bound to capture hearts.
Originally hailing from Bradford, Asher discovered his passion for music and singing aged 16 and was initially reluctant to pursue a career in the music industry after suffering from low self-esteem as a child after bad bullying at school. From 16, Asher worked to improve his self-confidence through developing his craft of singing and performing.
Moving to London to focus full time on his music, Asher Knight honed his musical craft in the capital. He has built an impressive catalogue of songs, working alongside writing greats including Cut father, Mark Owen, Jon Maguire, Red Triangle, Olly Murs, James Blunt and many more.
Asher’s career has also taken him on multiple tours across the length and breadth of the UK, supporting the likes of The Vamps, Boyzone, Steps, Will Young, All Saints and performing on globally recognised stages including O2 Arena, Manchester Arena, SSE Hydro, Eventim Apollo and O2 Shepherds Bush Empire.
