Michael Franti & Spearhead have just released the Once A Day Rise Up EP (Fantasy/Concord); a six-track remix collection of his inspirational hit single “Once A Day” (featuring Sonna Rele & Supa Dups).
Showcasing the wide-ranging message of hope and gratitude that the song evokes, the special EP features six fresh takes on the track, two of which (Love Life & Tequila mix) were created by Franti himself. The EP also features remixes by Desperados, Cutmore, Morlando and Supa Dups

Inspired by his son’s battle with a serious kidney disease, Franti wrote the uplifting and powerful anthem, “Once A Day”, as a reminder that “through music, dance and gratitude for this life, we can all ‘RISE UP.’” “Once A Day” features Sonna Rele and Supa Dups and was produced by Franti and Supa who has worked with Eminem, Pitbull, Rihanna, Damian Marley and Bruno Mars among others.
Soon after “Once A Day” was released, the song’s lyrics transformed from a hopeful message to an actual daily practice of gratitude and celebration of life throughout Franti’s beloved “SoulRocker” social community; ultimately resulting in the demand for apparel that reinforces this growing message.

Michael Franti is a musician, filmmaker and social justice advocate who has been a key force in popular music throughout his storied career. The diversity of the Oakland, CA native’s sound can be attributed to his wide range of influences that include John Lennon, Bob Marley, Johnny Cash, Marvin Gaye and The Clash. Along with his band, Spearhead, Franti seeks to break down barriers in music between performer and audience, in order to create an intimate, meaningful experience.
