Sandra North

Sandra North started her early musical years in Sweden, singing in church choirs and school ensembles. It was clear at a very young age that singing, dancing and performing was all she wanted to do.

In 2015 she finally took the step to move to Los Angeles and pursue her dreams of developing herself as an artist.

Although raised in the far north of Scandinavia, Sandra quickly discovered her love for country music. Small town life, big dreams, hardships and heartbreaks all appear reflected in her music and writing. After performing around LA for the past 4 years Sandra has established herself well in the Country scene in California. She is currently collaborating with numerous musicians to continue to grow and create her own music.

Getting to know Sandra

Sandra North 16 9

What’s the most useless talent you have?

I can put my thumbs behind the knuckles of my index fingers on both hands.

Do you sing in the shower? What songs?

All the time! It’s my happy place. Great acoustics and privacy make for the best shows! Any musical diva will do, from Celine Dion to Christina Aguilera to Donna Summer.

What makes you nostalgic?

Everything! Haha, I’m such a sentimental person and any scent or place will trigger an old memory. I really treasure things that make me nostalgic and often think back on things that made me feel emotions, whether it’s happy or sad things.

What fictional character do you wish was real?

Ooh, it would be the coolest thing in the world to have Eleven from Stranger Things as your best bud in real life! Who doesn’t love her!

Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life?

That’s a tough one. Maybe a blonde Julianne Hough! She’s amazing and I love the fact that she’s both a country singer and dancer as those two things are what I love most too! If not her then possibly Scarlett Johanson as people have repeatedly told me I look like her wherever I go.

Do you have any lucky items, objects or traditions?

I’ve always had a thing for the number 14. I’d say it’s my lucky number. I also collect every single Alabama quarter I come across. This has a cute story behind it as I was once gifted one and happened to lose it. Ever since that day I save everyone I find and consider it a lucky charm!

SandraNorth

What first got you into music?

Music has been a part of my life since the day I was born! I was raised in a house full of music by parents that daily played their vinyls. My dad also had a huge impact on my love for music as he is very passionate himself and always played a bunch of instruments, guitar being the prominent one. Ever since I can remember I’ve always been in front of the mirror singing and dancing. Very early on I also started to play instruments like the flute and piano as well as sing in the church choir and school ensembles. As an adult I started my career by booking bands and working at music festivals until I realized I had to be on stage myself! After graduating from Musicians Institute in Hollywood I started writing my own songs and became the artist I am today!

What’s your creative process like?

It varies from song to song. They all come about in different ways usually as I often work with other musicians too. For me as a lyricist I try to write any idea down in my phone wherever I am at, at the moment. I never wanna let go of a thought or emotion that comes my way. The best songs I’ve written happen when life inspires you and you actually capture the moment and write it right away. There are also times when I have the music written first and then I try to combine it with the feeling it gives me and write it from that perspective.

If you could go open a show for any artist who would it be?

My favorite male artist in the country scene today, Kip Moore! It would be a dream come true. I’m aiming for that to happen one day! I’ve already seen him play 8 times and travelled halfway cross country to do so, so the fangirl in me would be extremely happy!

What’s your favorite song to perform?

I would have to go old school and say my favorite one to sing might just be “Gunpowder and Lead” by Miranda Lambert. It’s been my “go to” song for the longest time now and it’s one I feel so comfortable singing where I can just let loose and have fun! It’s also filled with attitude which I love and my guitarist, Juan Abella, adds the most beautiful harmonies to it when we sing as well! It’s almost always included in our shows!

What’s the best advice you’ve been given?

Very early on in my singing career I got the chance to meet Rachel Platten at a signing. I told her about my ambitions and that I sang her song at an audition once. She then said “Keep at it! Just keep doing what you love and you’ll get there!” Meant a lot at the time as I had yet to put my feet on stage for the first time.

What do you enjoy most about being an artist?

I just love being able to do what I love and what makes me happy! Being surrounded by music was always my dream and to today get to write my own songs and have people hear them is just an amazing feeling. I love to tell my stories, get to be on stage, see my songs take on life in the studio and get to connect with people all over the world through the language of music.

What can we expect from you within the next 6 months?

I am currently finalizing the last few touches to my upcoming EP and planning the release with all that it entails. This will mark my debut EP so I wanna get everything just right. Announcements and release dates will be out soon so stay tuned!

Would you have any advice for would-be artists or songwriters wanting to follow in your footsteps?

Work hard, stay focused and don’t let anyone tell you there’s something you can’t do. Strong will and dedication will get you far no matter what it is you want to accomplish. I think the most important thing is to not give up. Know the road is gonna be hard but learn to love the journey of it!

Investment Property Insurance 101: The Coverage Options Every Real Estate Investor Should Know

Although real estate is a wise investment, it is also risky. Unexpected events can cause significant financial losses in any kind of natural disaster, accident, or tenant conflict. Investment property insurance then becomes really important. Protecting assets and long-term profitability depends on investors having appropriate insurance coverage. This article will break down the basics of investment property insurance, the different types of coverage, and why each is a must-have for new and experienced investors. Knowing these options will help you between a minor setback and a financial disaster. Why Investment Property Insurance Matters? Having investment properties is different from having a primary residence. When tenants occupy a property, the risk of damage, liability, and legal issues increases. Without enough insurance, landlords can incur big fees that eat into their profits or, in extreme cases, go bankrupt. According to an Insurance […]
