In the not so distant future, cars are expected to be jam-packed with innovative technologies that can make them more self-sufficient, and fun to drive and own.
There is an abundance of futuristic automobile technologies that are appearing quickly on the market. The ever-evolving fields of artificial intelligence most definitely spark these developments, augmented reality, driverless operations, and vehicle communications.
It helps that not only do these areas have massive amounts of support from the government, but they also have the want and needs of the population who are getting more and more use to highly technically sophisticated pieces of equipment. So, it’s not surprising that people are urging their cars to be the same.
Here are five technologies that could be appearing sooner than you think in our modern vehicles:
Self-Driving Cars
Probably one of the most watched and eagerly awaited technologies that are around at the moment, having a car with self-drive capabilities may now be further away than we think after incidents that involve a self-driving car crash. Many developers are working tirelessly to develop driverless vehicles for safer driving experiences, though, so it’s still in the pipeline.
A Change To Airbags
We all know that airbags have significantly improved and continue to save lives daily. The technology for these is continually changing, and improvements are always targeted. Safety reinforcements facilitated by airbags are one of the most critical areas that cars are being developed in, for both safety recommendations and customers’ requirements. This technology is thought to be being reinvented and is expected to move past current versions that we see quickly. We’re used to seeing side airbags, knee airbags, curtain airbags, and seatbelt airbags but this technology currently has research to help develop the deployment of airbags underneath cars to stop them before a potential crash or collision.
Energy-Efficient Body Panels
Now, this would be a real game-changer in the world of vehicles, and it will surely come with its costs. Think about all the fuel you could potentially save though. The car manufacturers that are leading in development are trying to integrate energy-efficient body panels made from carbon resin and polymer fiber to remove the flaws of hybrid batteries that currently exist. These panels are going to be light in weight and flexible to enhance their speed without affecting their strength and durability.
Vehicles That Talk to Each Other
This would indeed be something that would make a massive difference if executed right. If our cars had the ability to feedback information such as heavy traffic, road accidents, adverse weather conditions, and even pedestrians crossing to other vehicles, then our roads would be naturally a much safer place to be. All this information sharing would surely be able to help in avoiding serious accidents and also help to notify authorities of injuries and needs for their services. Although some may argue that they don’t like the idea of their information being shared with everyone. As people have had a hard enough time accepting trackers and the black box that monitors your speeds and journeys.
