Women’s Fashion Predictions This Autumn 2022

It has been a long hot summer for many of us, although now it’s time to get ready for autumn and the cosy vibes it brings! Wardrobe preparations may have started months ago for a few of you. If you are scratching your head with no clue what to look for, hopefully, these suggestions should shed some light on where to start.

Leather Biker Babe

Like many seasons before this one, leather is inevitably stepping into the limelight once again as one of the winter essentials of 2022. If you haven’t got an oversized faux leather biker jacket ready to face the cold, you are not ready for the season Hunny. Not only are these jackets beautiful to look at, but they are completely universal. Heading to the shops? Throw on a printed tee and some skinny jeans and serve looks in the frozen aisle. Girl’s night out and you need a jacket to face the cold between bars? Any elegantly flowing dress can be made classy and cool with a cute leather jacket. Just make sure you don’t leave it at the bar like the number that guy just gave you.

Power suit out of office

Although tailored women’s suits have been an on-and-off topic for the last few years, we believe that autumn 2022 is the season to go all out with your tailored suits. Limiting womens blazers to the office is going to be a waste. Make sure if you’re going to do it you go all out. We want to see fluorescent, oversized blazers and suit pants, accessorised with large, bling jewellery because that’s the kind of person you are to be wearing this fit. Adding bright colours is one of the easy ways to build an outfit that stands out. Power suits are not for the weak and if you’re ready for the stares of admiration, I would jump onto this outfit choice this season.

Stomping boots

Step into the autumn season ready for any weather condition with a reliable pair of stomping boots, also known as biker boots. Once again a style we will continue to see for years to come, boots come as a given for any colder seasons where ballet pumps just aren’t going to cut it. Realistically boots can be styled to your heart’s content, but just a few pointers would be to wear them with cuffed bottoms so others can fully admire the versatile footwear. Boots might become your most worn shoe of the season, choose wisely when purchasing ensuring they will last many winters to come. Just a quick tip, paying that extra bit of cash on these might be the difference between buying a new pair every year or having the same pair for the next 5 years.

Y2K is here to stay

After the popularity surge of Y2K inspired fashion, nothing has changed in terms of its influence levels, especially on the gen-z’s generation. The autumn/ winter edition includes much more sparkle and glimmer, whilst still keeping its playful, lack-of-material theme. It’s all about low-rise sequin skirts, jeans, and little crop tops. Not to fear for anyone looking to venture into this style and avoid the skin show. In true autumn/ winter spirit, layering will be your best friend. Funky tights, fluffy jackets, and cute hats will maintain the Y2K theme whilst amping up the autumn additions. Much like your suit choice, the sun going down is more of a reason to keep the colour schemes brighter. Fluorescent is here to stay for this season and in true Y2K fashion, you should not shy away from popping the colours out.

Knitwear everything

It’s time to throw out that holey-knitted jumper you’ve kept for the last few years. You know the one at the bottom of your wardrobe you haven’t touched for nearly 12 months. New knitted pieces are more than just jumpers, it’s two-piece knit mini skirts and jumper sets that will make you stand out from the crowd. Opt for beige, grey, or off-white shades, and pair them with some thick tights and bulky boots as mentioned above. Knitted accessories are also a must. If you haven’t yet got yourself a woolly scarf, gloves, and a cosy hat we would recommend having them at the ready.

Final thoughts

The items mentioned of course are not essential, however, I would describe them as staples for any Autumn 2022 wardrobe. If you are someone who is looking to amp up your wardrobe then start with buying just one of these items if you haven’t got one already. Some are bolder than others, and some can even be combined into a complete outfit. Rip off that bandaid, and step out of your comfort zone because no one can do it for you. Cosy nights are right around the corner and your wardrobe shouldn’t be a reason for worry. Besides, who wouldn’t want to be ahead of the game and receive compliments when you step out in your stylish autumn garments?
