The visual seamlessly integrates intimate close-ups with energetic, yet emotional performances by Sophia and Pink Sweat$. The colorful visual intercuts a series of smiling faces and beaming expressions, evoking the spirit of confidence embodied by the hook, “They ask why I bend the rules. That’s just what I’m made to do.”
Regarding “Made,” Sophia commented, “’Made’ is about embracing everything about the way you are: the good, bad, and uncomfortable.. About Sophia Messa
The 21-year-old singer-songwriter is a force to be reckoned with, exuding confidence and candor while being one of the most qualified new acts in the game. Born and raised in New York, Sophia grew up in lower Manhattan, and is a first generation American, born to self-made immigrant parents (she is a dual citizen of both Brazil and the US).
Sophia attended The Professional Performing Arts School (home to Alicia Keys) for middle and high school where she was classically trained in vocal performance and opera. Inspired by the world around her, she began writing original music in high school and recorded demos at a studio across the street from her apartment. During her senior year, she was accepted into The Berklee College of Music. At just three weeks in, and 24 hours after meeting with Arista’s CEO/President, David Massey, Sophia signed a record deal and headed back to New York to launch her musical career.
Fans and critics alike can expect Sophia’s subtly dark, left-of-center pop sound, highlighted by flawless vocals, honest songwriting and irresistibly enjoyable hooks on her forthcoming “Ice Cream & Cigarettes” EP.
