Already proclaimed her “hottest record yet” by FLAUNT, Brazilian-American artist Sophia Messa unveils the music video for her latest single “Made” [feat. Pink Sweat$].

The visual seamlessly integrates intimate close-ups with energetic, yet emotional performances by Sophia and Pink Sweat$. The colorful visual intercuts a series of smiling faces and beaming expressions, evoking the spirit of confidence embodied by the hook, “They ask why I bend the rules. That’s just what I’m made to do.”

Regarding “Made,” Sophia commented, “’Made’ is about embracing everything about the way you are: the good, bad, and uncomfortable.. Messing up in life and being able to accept and grow from that experience rather than bashing yourself. Everyone has qualities about themselves they don’t love—or qualities that society uses to treat you differently. Instead of feeling ashamed, we should all embrace how we were made. Everyday you can only try to be the best version of you.”

“Made” is just the second track to be unveiled from her upcoming debut EP “Ice Cream & Cigarettes,” which is due later this year and will be executive produced by Jenna Andrews [BTS, BENEE, Noah Cyrus].

“Made” arrived on the heels of her critically acclaimed single “Ice Cream & Cigarettes”. Inciting tastemaker applause, Ones To Watch acclaimed, “ ‘Ice Cream & Cigarettes’ oozes the pop-palatability and star-potential that every rising artist aspires to.”

About Sophia Messa

The 21-year-old singer-songwriter is a force to be reckoned with, exuding confidence and candor while being one of the most qualified new acts in the game. Born and raised in New York, Sophia grew up in lower Manhattan, and is a first generation American, born to self-made immigrant parents (she is a dual citizen of both Brazil and the US).

Sophia attended The Professional Performing Arts School (home to Alicia Keys) for middle and high school where she was classically trained in vocal performance and opera. Inspired by the world around her, she began writing original music in high school and recorded demos at a studio across the street from her apartment. During her senior year, she was accepted into The Berklee College of Music. At just three weeks in, and 24 hours after meeting with Arista’s CEO/President, David Massey, Sophia signed a record deal and headed back to New York to launch her musical career.

Fans and critics alike can expect Sophia’s subtly dark, left-of-center pop sound, highlighted by flawless vocals, honest songwriting and irresistibly enjoyable hooks on her forthcoming “Ice Cream & Cigarettes” EP. The EP is executive produced by Jenna Andrews (Benee “Supalonely,” Noah Cyrus “July”) and features collaborations with acclaimed pop songwriters Ali Tamposi (Camila Cabello, Selena Gomez) and Ian Kirkpatrick (Dua Lipa, Demi Lovato), among others.
