Eric Selby has carved out a solid name for himself within the folk music space as a sought after artist, producer and multi-instrumentalist and a critically acclaimed folk singer/songwriter.

Eric’s new album, Dang Fool, is his 3rd studio album. Out now, Dang Fool explores themes of relationships and inner and personal growth that suggests the past should stay in the past; it’s time to start looking forward.

The folk rock “Horseshoes & Hand Grenades” speaks on this the most. Life happens with or without you, so he begs the question, are you going to be an active participant or an observer? He suggests that action is more important than words, so since participating will ultimately make you happier, get off your duff and take charge of your life.

The americana laced folk song, “I Carry You,” acknowledges the past as memories, specifically when relationships end. You carry these people in your head, heart, and soul as you move forward.

The more acoustic indie folk song, “A Knew Year,” looks forward into the future with hope and excitement, using your past as a guide and learning experience.

The folk rock album is laced with catchy hooks and revelatory lyrics that Eric sees as the final chapter of a 3-chapter journey, The first two chapters being his first two albums, Do, Baby. and Where You Born At?

“It really wasn’t planned or intended to be that way but it has evolved to be the coda on this part of my creative and emotional journey that, for some reason, I needed to communicate,” Eric reveals.

I fell in love with music when I first picked up a guitar at age 8. When I played, my friends and family would smile and spill with joy over the music I played, even though it was never Grammy quality. While my music career never made it past high school, my love for music never waivered. I loved the feeling of bringing a smile to someone's face through music and wanted to keep that passion going. So, I took it upon myself to continue to support and promote artists by writing about their music. This way, I can support my personal passion for music and bring entertain and joy to others through music.  Outside my love for music, I do enjoy a good hike and being in the outdoors. My favorite place that I've hiked is in Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah. I love to travel too. I've been to Costa Rica, Vancouver, BC, and England, but the best place by far is Germany on Oktoberfest. I liken that experience to being in New Orleans on Mardi Gras. I like a good book now and then, but I'm more of a streaming fiend. I live for crime docuseries on Netflix, veterinary shows on National Geographic, and re-watching Scrubs on Hulu.
