“Destination Hot Mess” is a song with an attitude and a country groove that celebrates the everyday woman’s life in the fast lane! It is a relatable clever song that will have you addictively singing along with a smile on your face because she is singing about you. The song gives us a reason to pause and realize that our work is not done when we walk through the door at night. Timing is everything… cue the album art taken last week during Natalie’s 4th week home schooling her adorable three girls.
“Destination Hot Mess” was co written by Natalie Otto and Nashville Producer, Justine Blazer, who also produced the single. “Natalie and I wrote this song out of pure wittiness. Natalie came to me with these incredibly creative lyrics about being a mother, a wife, working full time and also doing her music career. She’s trying to just keep up with it all. It’s a fun song with a kooky vibe and a touch of satire. We tracked this in Nashville with amazing top notch session players. I mixed this track and it was mastered by Machine in Austin, TX” – Justine Blazer.
Natalie shares, “I love the beat, the tempo, the build. It’s definitely the kind of song that makes you want to get up and dance. I hope it brings encouragement to listeners that while, yes, we’re all a hot mess, (especially right now with COVID19) we’re all a hot mess together. No judgement here!”
You can get your “crazy train ticket” for “Destination Hot Mess” on April 24th when her single releases.
About Natalie Otto
Natalie Otto is a new Americana/Country Singer-Songwriter originally from Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. She currently lives in Maryland with her husband and three children. Natalie’s return to music has been a long time coming, since her first exposure to learning the piano as a child. In between, Natalie had a successful career in corporate America as an accountant specializing in fraud and forensic investigations. While she now consults part-time, she is also a busy, full-time mom. After 3 daughters within 6 years, Natalie decided it was finally time to reconnect with her love of music. She jumped headfirst into guitar lessons, which was a birthday gift from her husband, and music writing. As a mom, wife, daughter, sister, and friend – Natalie sings and writes honestly about what happens in everyday life. Natalie is a natural storyteller, resonating authentically with her listeners. “For me, it’s important to speak from the heart. I want my audience to find comfort in the words I’m writing and know that they’re not the only ones feeling that way. I’m taking my journey one day at a time and enjoying the ride along the way. I love creating music and hope this is a part of my life for a very long time. It’s personally fulfilling to have my girls see me pursuing something that I love doing in hopes they have the same inspiration to chase their dreams when they’re my age!” Natalie wrote “Beyond the Blue” about her sister who tragically passed away in a car accident at the age of 23. They were only 14 months apart, so it hit her very hard as a young adult. She wasn’t planning on writing a song about her at the time, but when an incredibly beautiful blue sky inspired her, it was very therapeutic to get her feelings out on paper. Natalie enjoys time at the gym, as well as, hiking, riding bikes or doing puzzles with her family. Natalie Otto is a member of NSAI and is signed with Heart Songs Records. She has recorded exclusively in Nashville with producer, Justine Blazer.
