Following her most successful year to date, Heather Rae announces the release of her debut EP Liberosis! Professional ice skater, Nashville recording artist, and singer/songwriter Heather Rae just released 4 songs, including the title track “Liberosis.” The song is filled with vulnerable lyrics, gut-wrenching guitar solos and enough passion to carry the entire EP.
Heather Rae says, “I’m a huge fan of psychology, and I was reading an article online when I came across the word “liberosis” – it’s defined as ‘the desire to care less and loosen one’s grip on life.’ As soon as I read it, I felt like I’d been searching for that word my entire life. I’ve always been a very sensitive person and sometimes the weight of it can feel unbearable. I immediately picked up my guitar and started writing the song that would eventually become “Liberosis”.
My entire EP is about lessons I’ve learned on loosening my grip on life. It’s all about letting go of control and accepting that no matter how hard we try, someone will always be disappointed. It’s a bitter pill to swallow, but there’s a whole lot of freedom in it too.”
Each song showcases a unique perspective on what liberosis can look like. Laced with drama and buttery vocals, “Dumpster Fire” tells the story of a woman warning a man away from her because she lives in a burning house. “Villain Era” is filled with cinematic strings and heavy bass drops that convey power and encouragement to anyone plagued with being a people pleaser. The third song, “Grown”, combines heart-felt lyrics and a nostalgic guitar track that will have you falling in love from the very first listen.
Filled with whimsical lyrics and powerhouse vocals, the EP delivers a piece of liberosis to anyone who hears it. Written by Heather Rae and co-produced by Tre Scott and Heather Rae, Liberosis is available everywhere!
