How would you describe the music that you typically create?

My music is a blend of pop, dark drama and fun. upbeat tempos. I always say it’s like Lady Gaga and Phantom of the Opera had a child, and my music is their child haha

What sets your music apart? What is unique, or at least uncommon?

What sets my apart are thevisuals I create and the element of drama in both my music and visuals. I believe visuals help tell the song’s story and add another layer of interest into building a brand. I love using drama and shock value in my visuals – like pink paint, skulls and dance movements.

When you create music, what is your personal purpose or goal?

My goal for my music is to be honest, vulnerable and passionate. I love writing about topics that we’re afraid to say out loud and having the strength to be vulnerable in our feelings. I want to embrace our differences and where we come from. I hope listeners feel safe in my music and find themselves in my music.

How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business?

The internet and social media has definitely allowed the music industry to grow rapidly. It allows independent artists like myself to take control of our music and business. There’s definitely pros and cons however. We don’t necessarily need record labels anymore cause we have the technology and tools to support our music. However that means we’re meant to wear all kinds of hats – and become our own manager, marketer, etc – in addition to being an artist and songwriter.

What are your musical plans for the next 12 months or so?

Releasing this new album was so much fun! I’m excited to focus on my live shows in the next year and perform around different provinces in Canada. I’ll continue to work with my choreographer, Mickeey Nguyen, and upgrade my show productions! I’ll definitely still be writing and creating music behind the scenes, as I curate the sound for my next music project.

Would you rather be the one in a movie who gets the hero/heroine or the baddie with all the good lines?

I’d rather be the baddie with all the good lines! It’s more fun playing the villain and they usually have really badass outfits too

What was the last TV series you watched on TV?

I’m currently watching One Piece, which is my favourite anime! There’s more than 1000 episodes and I’m almost all caught up!

What makes you nostalgic?

Seeing my family makes me nostalgic! Especially seeing my older cousins become parents and seeing their kids grow up.

If you could ask your future self-one question, what would it be?

I’d ask myself “Are you happy”. No matter what I do in the future or where I am, I just hope I remain happy and surround myself with people who I love.

What was the last thing you dressed up as for fancy dress?

I always dress fancy when I film my music videos and song artworks! It’s almost like cosplaying for every song I release.
