What sets your music apart? What is unique, or at least uncommon?

My voice and my style of storytelling sets the music apart.  We are extremely engaging with our audience, and inspire an energetic response. The act of having a full ten-piece band, refusing to use any backing track  also makes every performance special.

Who would you most like to collaborate with?

We’d love to Collaborate with Third Man Records/Jack White more than anything.  Locally we’d love to work with Penrose Recording, Shannon and the Clams, and Jeffery Rosenstock.

Have you got a ritual of sorts when writing and thinking about your music?

I am focused on being process driven and letting go of controlling outcomes. I keep my mind open for melodies to come in, and then I work them out first on guitar by myself, and then either demo they out at home or bring them to the full band to arrange together. Usually while I’m on my morning walk a melody will come to me, and I’ll spend the rest of the day in hot purist of it.

What is one message you would give to your fans?

My message is life is short, and we have to live the kind of life we will look back on and smile.  A life filled with joy, filled with kindness, with singing and dancing and making music.

Where was your current project recorded?

We recorded on 8 Track Cassette Tape with Co-producer Cameron Bina in a studio in Silverlake. Los Angeles CA.

If you could have any superhero power, what would it be and why?

I’d be able to pull a murphy bed out of any wall.

Tell us your best joke.

A Sandwich walks into a bar.  Bartender says “Sorry, we don’t serve food here.”

Which fictional character do you wish was real?

Buckaroo Banzai

What makes you nostalgic?

Life before cell phones has a special place  in my memories.

If you could learn any language fluently, what would it be?

I am currently learning Mandarin Chinese to talk with my wife’s family fluently.
