We had the pleasure of interviewing Ava King. Ava King, a talented individual hailing from France, has quickly emerged as a prominent figure in various fields. Born and raised just outside of Paris, Ava’s journey towards success began at a young age.

With a thirst for knowledge and a passion for languages, Ava attended Columbia University, where she briefly studied Chinese and journalism. It was during this time that her talent for writing became evident, leading to her first article being published in The New York Times at the tender age of 18.

Following her graduation from Columbia, Ava embarked on an exciting adventure in China, where she resided for a decade. During her time in the country, she showcased her versatility by working as both a singer and a TV show host.

What first got you into music?

I really loved musicals when I was a kid, I would watch Singing in the Rain over and over again and write and perform songs for my parents in our living room.

How would you describe the music that you typically create?

Three words: Unicorn on LSD with an AK47

Who would you most like to collaborate with?

I would love to collab with Dillon Francis

What is one message you would give to your fans?

That it’s totally fine to be a human being among human beings.  It’s fine to do things and not to do them, we are worthy of love and respect just by virtue of existing.

What would you be doing right now if it weren’t for your music career?

I would be a graphic designer, or an AI programmer, or a French chef …

You are a new addition to a crayon box. What colour would you be and why?

Pink definitely pink, bright neon pink, because it fucks shit up!

Do you have a cherished childhood teddy bear or other stuffed animal sitting on your bed at home?

I actually do, her name is Gookygooky, she’s a goose, she’s 36 years old (1 year younger than me).  I called her Gookygooky because I couldn’t pronounce S when I was little.

What would be the ideal food to have cooked for you on a date night?

Ahhhhhh homemade cheesecake!

What would be a good theme song for your life?

I love the song “A Corps Perdu” by Gregory Lemarchal.  It’s about living life shamelessly to the fullest.

Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life?

I think having Jack Black play me would be pretty epic!

ava king sex money god album

Following the Anti-Holiday-Anthem “Worst In Me ,” King’s debut album SEX MONEY GOD dives into the quest for a spiritual connection in a society that often dismisses the existence of a higher power, suggesting instead that joy comes from material possessions and superficial glamor,” King explains. ” SEX MONEY GOD is about rediscovering our inherent value and the idea that our worth isn’t tied to the things we own or how we look. It questions how we can come back to a place where we understand that we’re all deserving of love just by being ourselves.” Sonically echoing elements of alt-pop icons  Lady GagaCharli XCX, and Gwen Stefani, Ava still relentlessly maintains a one-of-a-kind, edgy, punk sensibility.
