Neon Gold/Elektra recording artist Marina And The Diamonds is proving a worldwide phenomenon with her new album, “FROOT.”

Released earlier this month, the acclaimed collection debuted Top 10 on the SoundScan/Billboard 200, entering at #8 with sales in excess of 46k – Marina’s highest chart placement and greatest overall sales week to date. “FROOT” also debuted at #4 on the Top Albums Chart.

In addition, “FROOT” reached #1 on the iTunes Store’s “Top Albums” chart in the U.S. as well as in Argentina, Greece, Ireland, and the United Kingdom; #2 in Canada, Sweden, Australia, Sweden, New Zealand, Mexico, Brazil, and Finland; and Top 5 in Singapore, Russia, Hungary, Switzerland, Germany, Slovakia, and the Netherlands.

Marina has spent recent days in the spotlight, making high profile TV appearances on ABC’s Good Morning America and NBC’s Late Night with Seth Myers. Tonight will see Marina And The Diamonds headline an intimate concert at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom, an event that sold out within two minutes of its general on sale.

Entertainment Weekly graded the album with an “A-,” rhapsodizing over “(Marina’s) limber voice, which swings from voluptuous alto to fluttering soprano in one swoop,” as well as her “smirking quips and bubbling beats.” “Her finest creation to date,” applauded The Line of Best Fit, “it’s almost worrying she’s got to follow it up at some point.” “’FROOT’ is a sexy, slick and spectacularly charismatic document of love lost and found,” enthused Rolling Stone Australia in a four-starred rave.

“FROOT” was officially heralded late last year with start of the “Froot of the Month” album pre-order series, offering fans automatic monthly downloads of “FROOT” tracks until its release. “Froot,” the album’s title track, was the first to arrive and quickly turned into a YouTube sensation with almost 2.5 million views on YouTube. The following “Froot of the Month” tracks all earned equal attention, with “Forget” hitting #1 on the iTunes Store’s “Top Pop Songs” chart and “I’m A Ruin” and “Immortal” both reaching the top 5. Furthermore, “Happy” was a #6 favorite here in the U.S. while also making it to #1 on the iTunes Store chart in 9 countries.  A range of visuals, including official audio and excusive acoustic clips, accompanied the “FROOT” pre-release tracks, with the official companion video for “Immortal” – directed by Paul Caslin (Ed Sheeran, Paul McCartney) – earning 2 million plus views and official clips for “I’m A Ruin” and “Forget” – both directed by Markus Lundqvist (Daft Punk, Interpol) – now at 1 million views and counting.

Hailed worldwide as a striking and creative live artist, Marina will celebrate “FROOT” with an epic world tour, including U.S. headline dates and appearances at such upcoming festivals as Indio, California’s Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival (April 12th and 19th), Boston’s Boston Calling Music Festival (May 22nd), Columbia, Maryland’s Sweetlife (May 30th), New York City’s Governors Ball NYC Music Festival (June 5th), Toronto’s Field Trip (June 7th), and Montreal’s Osheaga Festival Musique et Arts (July 31st) (see attached itinerary). A full scale North American headline tour will be unveiled soon – for complete details, please see www.marinaandthediamonds.com/live.htm.
