Low Tide Levee have released their new 60’s inspired pop rock single “Dang Diggy,” out now.

Low Tide Levee are former marine biologist now turned singer-songwriter Amy Brookes, her husband Sasha Ames on bass, and guitarist Dustin Neuman. Amy has written all of their songs on their debut album, as well as singing all of the vocals and harmonies, and playing drums, percussion and keyboard.

“Dang Diggy” has a playful and whimsical feel. It’s a fun, sing-along romp featuring a springy melody that climbs up a key each verse until reaching its height, beckoning the listener to join in the reveling in the delight, joy, and infinite pleasure offered by being alive.  The song’s hallucinatory charms come to life via its surrealistic and silly Claymation video.

“I realized that this incredible mask we found for our music studio (the “Funk Palace”) *was* Dang Diggy, and that Dang Diggy was absolutely this non-gendered deity that hung about in the sky throwing down pies to whomever might be fortunate enough to receive them,” says Amy. “These days in band practice, we use Dang Diggy both as a great warm-up, and as a sort of casting of the circle for our ritual of music creation, offering homage to Dang Diggy as it hangs out above my drum throne on the wall.  After this musical ritual, I can’t help but laugh, every time.”

“Dang Diggy” has a more light-hearted feel to it than their previous single release, and came to Amy during a creative writing session at the local tea house where she frequently goes.

Low Tide Levee’s eclectic mix of psychedelic rock, funk and groove is the perfect backdrop for lead singer Amy´s creative force. The band’s influences range from their favorite Led Zeppelin, to Parliament Funkadelic and they are even inspired by impressionist composer Claude Debussy.

I fell in love with music when I first picked up a guitar at age 8. When I played, my friends and family would smile and spill with joy over the music I played, even though it was never Grammy quality. While my music career never made it past high school, my love for music never waivered. I loved the feeling of bringing a smile to someone's face through music and wanted to keep that passion going. So, I took it upon myself to continue to support and promote artists by writing about their music. This way, I can support my personal passion for music and bring entertain and joy to others through music.  Outside my love for music, I do enjoy a good hike and being in the outdoors. My favorite place that I've hiked is in Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah. I love to travel too. I've been to Costa Rica, Vancouver, BC, and England, but the best place by far is Germany on Oktoberfest. I liken that experience to being in New Orleans on Mardi Gras. I like a good book now and then, but I'm more of a streaming fiend. I live for crime docuseries on Netflix, veterinary shows on National Geographic, and re-watching Scrubs on Hulu.
